I'll check that site out. Thanks.
I think you’ll find a lot to like there, @jwmmakerofmusic.
Thanks mate.
Once my Drone Day piece is finished processing on Soundcloud and I link it to my Drone Day 2026 thread, I'll then check out The Quietus.
Yeah, I read it last night before listening this morning. I was kinda bummed that it might not live up to my expectations.
Then I listened to it and thought it was amazing on first listen. Figured that I must’ve missed something, so I listened a second time. Even better!
I’m guessing that maybe they’re trying to be the lone controversial review for the clicks? I don’t get it.
I don't get it either to be honest. I'm listening again, and honestly the album is amazing.
It may be The Guardian, Rolling Stone, ect, but in the cases it still mostly comes down to one person’s opinion, lol. I wouldn’t put much value in it.
And I sure don't put much value in it at all. I'm in the midst of my third listen (on "Hydrogen Helium Lithium Leviathan"), and yeah it scratches my "BoC" itch.
And rhymes with jock itch. Get the lyric book out! 🔥😂
Jeez louise, rofl! 😂
Love the album. Solid and quite interesting. Father and Son is great!
At first I found the processing of the voices a bit much in that one. Kinda like Jar Jar Binks had wandered on to the set of the album. It's grown on me though!
It's brilliant IMO.
Just thought to share this here. Was a good, somewhat informative, lighthearted video.
I don’t normally comment on such things but that last link is full of gibberish… what the hell does ‘ BoC’s reclamation of their own hauntological sensibilities is more a testament to their archival acumen and control of the sonic palette than a remediation of nostalgic tropes.’ mean ?
As for the music, I’ve only scanned through the latest album but don’t really find anything that impresses me more than many of the forum members produce on a daily, weekly or monthly basis… certainly more frequently than on a 13 year basis.
Apologies if any feathers have been ruffled 🤔
A bunch of bullshit buzzwords to descrive the musoc being listened to. It's like "foodies" describing what "mouth feel" a bite of food has. Just say if it's good or not, not a bunch of buzzwords. 😂
😂 I'm definitely inspired by BoC's music. I wish they'd release more music more often. I try to release at least a few tracks per month. It's crazy BoC took 13 years to release a new album. My 5-6 year long music creation block from 2013-late 2018 took less time than it took between BoC's current and last album. 😂
Lol, all good mate.
Ah haha, no feathers ruffled but I really can’t agree that I often hear things on the forum as impressive as the tracks on this Album. Everyone has different taste tho!
Yeah, while I'm inspired by BoC, I don't pretend my music is nearly as quality as theirs.
