@sveinbjorn I've been using airwindows the last 10 years, i would die to join the TestFlight. I could help a lot with the beta testing cos of my deep experience with the amazing Chris' effects.

  • Sorry for the delay, life happened. There will be testflight invites for all. I'll post here when I have the signup ready.

First version is on GitHub if you go real hard
    https://github.com/terrordisco/airwindows-c-auv3/

  • The beta has been submitted to apple.

Great! Love that you can choose between knobs or sliders. Note though: the standard double tap to reset a knob/slider gesture doesn’t seem to have been added, could you add that? It’s pretty essential tbh as it can be so hard to return some knobs to default otherwise (eg Trim in Glitchshifter)

  • Had a quick spin last night, this is epic! Noticed the double tap issue as well. Other than that, no immediate bugs jumped out.

Maybe add a favorite category to the browser?

  • Would be really useful to be able to view the help section while also tweaking the knobs/sliders

  • i’ve encountered an issue in Cubasis. When I close Cubasis and reopen it any instance of Airwindows in a project opens in its default state . It clears all the settings.

Hi. When you open one of the Airwindows instances, if you seen the menu page, you may need to tap on the "X" in the sidebar to close the menu without resetting the params. This works for me in AUM.

  • Build 2 is being processed by apple.

I fixed some of the issues I heard here and through TestFlight, the rest are coming. I need a little more time to find an elegant way to deal with the need for scrolling. I will be trying out suggested method and others. I really want this ux to be obvious, you never have to think.

    ⏺ Airwindows Consolidated — 0.1 (build 2)

Bug-fix build. Thanks for your feedback

    Fixed
    - Your session is restored properly. Reopening a project now brings back the exact effect and
settings you were using. Earlier builds could come back to "No effect selected" (most noticeably in
    Cubasis) — that's gone.
    - Full effect descriptions now show. Each effect displays its complete writeup, with a proper
heading — not just the one-line summary.

    New
    - Double-tap to reset. Double-tap any fader or knob to snap it back to its default value.

    Please test
    - Save, close, and reopen projects across your hosts (AUM, Cubasis, Logic, GarageBand, Loopy Pro)
and let me know if any effect or its settings don't survive a reload.

  • Build 2 is out. Build 1 is dead. Long live Build 2. Or short.

  • @sveinbjorn dang, you’re fast! Thanks again for taking the time to create this. The collection is overwhelming in the best way haha. Sat down with it last night and only had a chance to try out the amps and a few standouts I remembered from Chris’ YouTube channel. Looking forward to going through more. Great stuff! 🤙

  • @sveinbjorn amazing work my friend! You’ll get graces from heaven as my father used to say

Are you taking feature requests? Would love to see a ‘randomize parameters’ on the toolbar and if that’s possible I would definitely add a true peak limiter in the chain (I use Toneboosters Barricade for this use case) so maybe an ear-defender TP limiter and if chain in the app? Not sure how deep you want to go with features though… it’s a huge amount of work no doubt!

  • Certain effects (like the Consoles) are so big that some of the parameters are cutoff in Drambo. Scaling works, but it looks like there's just too much that even at max window size, some of it is still cut off.

Edit: was using previous version and noting whats already been pointed out about saving state of the app. Updating now o:)

  • amazing job man, it's the coolest thing ever happened to the ipad music world. seriously.
i'm testing, but cant load the effects in koala at the moment.

Koala does plugins? ooh. Got to check that out. I'll see if we can fix that. °

I'm adding two finger scroll for the next build. I'm thinking about also adding ux scale. this should also help those with smaller ipads, the design is a bit of a cadilac.

I will add randomize parameters, thanks for that. I do not actually make these effects, this is just a shell around Chris from Airwindows' effects. He's probably made what you are asking for already, you may need to delve, maybe it has a weird name. if not, keep using Barricade. I think he takes requests from his patreons, if you want to request something.

Hah, cool! I think that workaround is no longer needed. Or hope.

Thank Chris. His is the gift, I just made a lil' shell.

done, probably coming tomorrow (or in three weeks, depends on the weather).

  • Actually two finger scroll is dead, we're doing... something else.

  • Just curious what the process for upkeep looks like as Airwindows keeps adding to the consolidated effect plugin?

Echoing others, Airwindows stuff is in my YouTube algorithm and I love what I hear, but I’m firmly in iOS land so this is so cool to be able to try them out now.

just fwiw, you might want to be careful with that. Chris often has crazy big ranges for the fx params that can produce extreme, loud output. maybe have a limiter & DC blocker built in? the sweet spots for Chris' fx params are often in a narrow range, so simple randomization may not work as well as some sort of mutation scheme.

Yeah, that sounds a bit like adding a randomizer to a nuclear power plant control panel.

Apologies for not being clear, I meant a TP Limiter in your wrapper to mitigate any crazy gain spikes (I see others have added the same).

Having said that, I rescind my request for a randomizer. I always ask for it out of habit but AirWindows plugins are usually so few parameters they don’t need it.

BTW I can’t get anything out of BiquadStack. Can you?

  • drop the names of your favourite Airwindows plugins pls. Maybe a quick line about what and why. I’ll start:

    GlitchShifter: super quirky, glitchy pitchshifter

  • hope this gets reld soon:)
    rc2 is good for me.

    @sveinbjorn you a hero.
    and all who helped
    big thank you!

  • Donut: funky filter morphing
ToTape9: the tape compression is bonkers good (tapehack2 is dope too)

  • I just tried ConsoleH on a drum track, splitting the kick to a separate channel, as described by Chris. Very interesting using the Crush feature.
