So on the desktop version, they decided to skip adding way overdue AUv3 support, and proceed directly to adding trendy AI fluff.
Slow clap Fender...
Seems Fender's priorities are a little mixed up there. Shame really.
Besides Logic Pro do other DAWS have that ?
Not if there’s enough hate for it, and the hatred persists.
Yes.
GarageBand (of course...), Ableton Live, Reaper, Zenbeats, probably other less popular tones ones too.
Cubase and Pro Tools are the notable players who don't, but then they've got a vested interest in pushing VST3 and AAX as a "standard".
That's the cool thing about standards - so many to choose from!
There should be a Standard standard. I don’t mean to be stand-offish, but I’m talking a stand.
So only Logic Pro and Ableton live. Love your apps Rob, but sorry I just wasn’t expecting FSP to support those. For $100 we can just get “side rack “ and just be able to access iOS apps on Mac . I assume you know about that . If not , I’ll find a link

Just to be clear, I wasn't talking specifically about iOS. I was talking about AUv3 plugins (not just mine...) running natively on macOS.
Plus Reaper's really popular
Yep, I've heard of SideRack, but tbh, the built-in (aka free) inter-device audio / MIDI capabilities of macOS <-> iOS covers everything I need if I want to talk to an iOS app in Logic.
@Rob_Jackson_Music 👍👍
And this is entirely besides the guitar “trade dress” intimidation of the past few weeks!
Indeed. Along with subsequent hastily removed references to Marshall, Vox, etc., etc., in their amp models.
Talk about Dumble standards... (see what I did there?
)
Exactly - the tech bros want us to think that all this is inevitable. It is absolutely not, it all depends on whether the people stand up and shout a loud enough ‘fuck off’.
(Not to say that I don’t sometimes fantasize about having an AUM where I can voice prompt it to do things like “change all the outs on Channels 1 to 5 to Bus A”. I don’t think it’s realistic or desirable to get rid of AI entirely at this point, but we should minimize its use, while it is such an energy hog.
Exactly. 🤦♂️
What you are thinking about for AUM voice commands, is that AI? It sounds like a Siri thing, not something she does now, but I’m not clear about her, has she been AI all this time? Or just a surveillance tool…
My opinion on AI, the techbros are amoral creeps, and AI is a naked power and cash grab, no more inevitable than capitalism itself. AI “agents” or whatever they are called, have convinced users to unalive themselves, and have presented as sexualized seductive preteen girls.
End of digression though I would love to talk about what the USA’s 5000 data centers are doing to surrounding communities.

Amen, the whole naive worship of tech and tech bros has to end ASAP. They fooled us once with social media, let's not be fooled twice...
Enough with the puns, I can't stand them.
