lol! Faust is one of those bands people either love or hate.
Scariest tap I've ever heard! I liked the 'A secret life' track on your SC page - some Fripp and Eno sounds sneaking in via the back door...
Cheers, yes it's an infernal racket it makes when it's time stretched !
'A Secret Life' is a remix I did of the track from 'My Life in the bush of ghosts' by Eno / Byrne - which is one of my favourite albums.
The tap sounds very well recorded. Reminds me of Edgar Froese's Aqua, an old favorite of mine. Maybe it's a tribute as he died recently?
Ah there you go then. I've got a few Fripp/Eno albums, Evening Star is particularly lovely.
very, very hungry.....
'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts' by Eno / Byrne should have been one of my Top Three Influencers in Musical Life etc. Came out of leftfield (for me). Brilliant and at this point (all these years later) looks remarkably ahead-of-its-time....
Absolutely, certainly light years ahead of it's time and along with 'Remain in Light', one of the best-est albums ever !

Jezebel Spirit
Yeah. Brilliant tune. Such a fortuitous marriage (or an affair) of talented fuckers. I have given this track to a number of folks as a 'you wanna use vocal samples? listen to this..' example...
Yes one of my fave albums of all time also..great memories of playing the cassette through the first ever Walkman on my travels.
Although I must admit that listening to it just now through iPad and headphones is by far the best that track has ever sounded!
So..well....that's certainly a hard act to follow....
The first page of this thread will not load for me ..it just constantly tries to reload..maybe too many Soundcloud links or something?
Yeah could be - I must remember not to include the SC link in my replies.
+1
Yep some of us don't have very broad broadband ..:)
Narrowband?

iDensity and others.
Powerful stuff. Is that you on the piano - if so what did you use? I like the interplay between straight and pissed piano sounds. The gaps between clips work well too, leaving the viewer space to reflect.
Zappa once said he considered cigarettes as 'food'. I've never been a smoker but after watching that feel like exercising my free will and having a pint.
Wow. Great video to go with the experimental sound. Ominous to me but makes me want a cigarette. As a non smoker I guess that's what cigarettes are to me. Nice work!
@Monzo
The piano's a modified Module and then a very modified Module by way of iDensity, without the rediscovery of which the track wouldn't have got made to start with. Concepts and inspiration are all well and good, but sometimes happenstance is the best mother.
That's a very good piano sound. I haven't got Module but.....well, there's another temptation ahead...
I'm currently revisiting our collaboration, might introduce iDensity to that one
Thanks. I think the whole matter of free will is or can be ominous. A pit of self and responsibility or excuse for the lack thereof. Along with all the other aspects the philosophers have been making a living out of for a long time now...
Very cool @johnnygoodyear, did you edit the video on iPad as well?
Btw I couldn't load the first page either, probably too many SoundCloud embeds, I think it would help if people didn't quote the embed in their replies.
Just remembered, here's an experimental one I did a couple of years ago using Movbeats.
Thanks mate. Editing (if you can call it that
in Premiere, but I hardly do anything you couldn't easily knock-out in iMovie or Pinnacle, I just find handling youtube uploads easier from a desktop so that's where the tunes end up....and that's also where my libraries of clips reside etc.
And where did you acquire that fabulous library of clips @JohnnyGoodYear?
great work as usual.
Like Annie Lamott so brilliantly said: Bird by bird.... and in ones, but for more than a decade now...
Fine collection sir:)
I secretly believe your video library is a pie. I will go to my grave brandishing my fork..
Mister, the whole thing about Maine is pie. I've been here three weeks and accumulated an extra eight and half pounds of local goodness already. I may not sound like Barry White, but I'm beginning to resemble him, albeit in a pale and uninteresting way.
An attempt at doing something with Sector, the rest is retrologue heavily processed with crystalline and reverb FDN
Nice, I really like the background drone - big, deep, dark sound.
Thought this thread needed a bump:
Filtatron drone through Caramel and then side chained by Easy Beats 3 https://m.soundcloud.com/bvsmv/unquantized-noise-no-0930-at
Good noise, I image it being blasted out of a huge tower of battered, grey speakers. Not sure why but it made me think of the trip sequence in the Field in England film.
Ha, thanks! Yeah I get that same imagery oddly enough. It's definitely a little menacing compared to a lot of my work.
