MIDIx - New app by Fingerlab - Open for Beta-test
Our new app MIDIx is now available for beta-testing, here is the TestFlight link:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/meu4rHxC

Here is the app description:
MIDIx brings a new dimension to MIDI control. Instead of programming sequences or drawing automation, you let physics do the work. Objects bounce, fall, orbit, and collide — and every movement becomes expressive MIDI data in real time.
MIDIx is a universal app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and supports AUv3 so you can use it as a plugin directly in your favorite host.
Organic CC Controller
The CC page gives you 8 independent physics scenes, each generating a MIDI CC value from the motion of a physical object. The vertical position of the object maps directly to the CC value, creating smooth, organic modulation that no LFO can replicate.
Each scene can be assigned to any MIDI CC parameter — or to a parameter of another scene, enabling complex modulation chains where one physics engine drives the behavior of another.
Generative MIDI Sequencer
The Notes page transforms physics into melody. Add as many objects as you want to the scene — each one bounces freely and triggers a MIDI note every time it hits the wall.
Build evolving, generative patterns that shift organically over time. No two performances are ever the same.
Define your harmonic space with the Current Scale view — toggle individual notes on or off to craft any scale you need. Tap Scale Library to instantly load a preset scale: Major, Minor, Dorian, Pentatonic, and many more.
I would be interested to have your feedback about this, thanks!

Brilliant, will be testing it out as soon as possible. Cheers.
Can’t seem to find a way to delete objects from cc modulators? Note objects can be swiped off screen - is this supposed to be possible on the cc screen as well?
No you can't delete objetcs from the CC modulators, you can just enable/disable additionals objects (static, bumper, planet && repulsor).
There is no need to add/delete more objects as only one object is required to set the CC value.
Sorry, it was the additional objects I was referring to! I’d not realized that you could enable/disable them. Thanks.
This is awesome!! This is really fun to use and super simple to setup. Great implementation.
Making yourself busy huh? The new synth, Polagone and now this.
Makes me a bit worried about Musyc2 and also aware why it's not gotten the stuff you've said it will get, like eg CC, or, is this aimed as a complementary to Musyc2? I really hope not.
Yes a bit busy indeed, but don't worry a Musyc2 update is on the way, it should be available in two weeks. CC will arrives later in Musyc2, after MIDIx launches...
Alright, thank you.
Very interesting!
Have liked this dev's apps for awhile, but became a superfan with his Polagone app. Looking forward to taking this new one for a spin!
So that I’m able to make a buying decision when it’s released, does this mean that eventually Musyc2 will have all of the functionality of MIDIx as a controller of other instruments/parameters (notes and cc)?
I really dig the midix
@Gavinski has a great demo of it with Fundamentals. I've been automating everything with it for testing purposes. Pretty fun stuff!

Musyc2 will be able to send CC (it should be added in a future update), but it will more simple as in MIDIx, with less options I think.
I would love to give it a try, I’m a big fan of midi generators, but the beta is full already. Any chance to have some more spots @relpot ?
I have added 15 more slot for the TestFlight, you can retry now.
Thank you!
Auv3?
Heck yeah it is. I love ratchets and you can make some really glitched out futuristic ratchets with it. It’s my favorite midi physics utility easily.
Yes AUv3 support! Regular AUv3 and AUv3 Midi
What way are u using it to make ratchets? Spill the beans!
I'm using the notes connected to hand clapper. I have the ball wedged between the little circles in the corner and have the speed automated via CC and the CC7volume automated where it slowly rises at the 16 step and falls sharply. I suppose I can do the same in hammerhead ratchet- but it's fun.
I'm trying out several other ways- will post some audio.
Just joined the Test Flight. I love Fingerlab apps, I love creative midi generators, but I CANNOT get my head around midi cc…. This looks very complicated to me, but I’m gonna give it my best shot 😳
@Gavinski also, I know you didn’t really seem too impressed with IMPSY, but for shits and giggles try using the midiX cc’S with Impsy’s CC’s and load up a complex AUM session, feed the midi into IMPSY, and enable logging and just play around for 10-15 minutes. It learns and it’s pretty unique. I’m enjoying it.
