VAPolyMod (released)

Comments

  • You did, but, since you failed to add (Released) that awesome price you had won for it is void.

  • I have 5 VAPoly synth apps so far, the filter in all of them is excellent - the best I’ve heard, but all of them sound very similar to each other! When I add Automation to the LPF frequency, strange things happen, for some reason it sets all the LFOs and it’s hard tracking what each LFO is doing because I can hear what’s happening…..but I can’t see what’s causing the modulation.
Is VAPolyMod going to be a micro tweaked version of what’s already available? BTW, the price is forever changing to a later date on all of the other VAPoly synths

  • I like the dev and his synths, but his UI is absolutely infuriating and puts me off from using them. Once you learn one, you know how to use them all, but it doesn't help.

  • I have a few of his synths but I don't use them Polywest being my fav. UI hurts my old eyes so its a no go for me

I do not understand this developer and his portfolio of synths .. it’s just too confusing to me .. from what I tried they all sounds like same engine packed again and again into more or less same interface with small tweaks here and there .. But maybe i am missing something ..

The whole lack of clear communication around the differences between them, and the really uninspiring UIs, put me right off these. It's a tragedy really, I don't know why the dev doesn't take a different approach, he's surely aware that everyone complains about this stuff, and the sales figures likely speak for themselves.

Well, it must be a coincidence because I am also missing the same something lol. I just watched his second demo on YouTube and it does indeed sound virtually identical to the five VAPoly’s I already have, I won’t be investing this time, I’m out!

I believe I am the only uk person to leave feedback on the App Store for 5 of the synths, I mentioned in the comments about the Pitch bend being locked at + — 1 octave range instead of + — 2 semitone range, I never had a response. Who uses 1 octave up/down for pitch bend ?

  • You have two VAPolyFMWest…. Do you find they all sound similar?

Ha, meant to have VAPolyWest at the end.

I honestly have a hard time telling too much difference. I like the sounds but kind of reach for them without much thought on specifics. I should A/B test some of them to see what stands out.
