Just checked Amazon to see what my M4 Pro MBP 14” goes for now. Considering I bought it over a year and a half ago, I thought it’d be less than the £1800 I paid. It’s now on sale for £2299….totally bonkers.

Yeah hold onto your electronics while you can because it’s getting nuts. The fact that game systems are increasing in price is wild to me. Xbox just announced a price hike coming and same with Nintendo Switch 2.

I kind of had a similar experience. I bought an M2 Mac mini for $300 a year or so ago. Looking on FB marketplace they’re still going for about that price, if not more.

Normally I'm scared to look at prices a year later - for example my Intel MBP took a nose-dive a few months later when they brought out the M1!

£500 increase though for a laptop that's nearly two years old, is nuts. The MacBook Air I bought for work a few months ago has also gone up £250.

I've been fence-sitting Elektron gear recently, might be an idea to jump in with that too now as they'll also probably be due a price hike...
