Loopy Pro + Ableton Performance Setup

Hey all! I’m trying to use Loopy in tandem with Ableton, to switch presets, trigger clips, etc for the purpose of live performance.

I saw a YouTuber called Seed To Stage showcasing this working with Abletons new Link Audio feature.

I do not have access to a WiFi network, and when I connect my iPad to my Mac, Loopy does not appear as a peer in Ableton.

Should the USB C wired connection not be sufficient to transmit audio?

Can someone explain this setup, and possibly another way to make this work. Am I overthinking this?

    When you say you don’t see the iPad listed as a peer, do you mean the regular link connection is not being made or are you only talking about the link audio.

    @espiegel123 Neither, i believe. There’s no connection made under “Link” in Ableton

    Correct me if I'm wrong but with Link Audio, isn't it that connections are made via wi-fi or wired ethernet, not USB?

    I used an app called AudioPipeline and have managed to link it!

    Thanks for all your help . It must be making the push connection

    Managed to send midi to control ableton

    Still no understanding at all on how Audio comes in from Ableton to loopy and how to route it 😅

    If standard link is not working when you connect your iPad to your Mac via usb, something odd is happening.

    No ad-hoc network setup needed. I will try to find time in the next day or so to show it in action.

    @espiegel123 I used this auv3 app called AudioPipeline , you can send and recieve on individual tracks over a wifi network with nearly no latency

    I think I’m all good! If anyone want to know how to set this up I’m happy to help out as much as I can

    Really amazing to have audio pass from ableton. Next level

    A usb-c cable is sufficient for link between iPad and Mac with or without link audio. A wired connection like this is preferable to WiFi as a wired connection has next to no latency while WiFi will have some.

    Were you able to get it working via usb?
