Loopy Pro with Lumbeat Soft Drummer

Hello all. Total noob here. I hope this is the tight place to post this. Apologies if not. I'm running Auv3 versions of Lumbeat Soft Drummer and Pop Drummer in loopy Pro. So far, its' working great and I am learning a lot about setting it up the way I want it. But, occasionally with Soft Drummer and maybe Pop Drummer, I'll get a really loud obnoxious buzzing noise. I've tried stopping it by putting Soft drummer in "idle" mode. This does stop it, but as soon as I make it active again the noise is back. All of the controls in Soft Drummer are also unresponsive when this occurs. The only way to really stop it is to shut down and reboot loopy Pro. It does it whether I'm using the built in speakers, earphones, or bluetooth connected. I'm running this on a new Ipad A16. I'm wondering if there might be a problem with the Ipad itself, but it has never done it with any other app. Here are my hardware setings in LP: sample rate 48khz, buffer duration 256, file format 24bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.

I am many others are experiencing this bug.The noise is horrible and a complete deal breaker. Too late to get a refund. I posted a bug report in Lumbeat discord, and so have other people, but no response from developer
It's a total show stopper and will send your audience running for the door.

Quick but temporary fix- change the kit, then change it back. Fixes the issue.... until the next time it happens.

What Sample rate and buffer size are you using. This is a soft/pop drummer AU issue not specific to Loopy Pro. Some people never experience; so it isn’t clear what the trigger is.

Some people say to make sure the audio interface is connected before launching the host app.

  • The only time I’ve had loud/obnoxious noise from pop drummer is when I’ve started loopy pro (with PD as an auv3), noticed my audio interface wasn’t plugged in, plugged in the interface, then started a song. I don’t believe PD likes having the audio interface changed after it’s loaded. It should probably handle this more gracefully.

I suspect people are having issues with their audio interface disconnecting and reconnecting.

  • Thank you all for the suggestions. I've got LP set like this; sample rate 48khz, buffer duration 256, file format 24bit. Yeah, it really is a show stopper, as it is very loud. Mine is a pulsating tone at about 175Hz (approx F3). I sure hope Lumbeat releases a fix soon!

Are you using an audio interface?

Are you connecting it before you launch Loopy Pro?

You may want to join the Lumbeat Discord and add a comment to the bug thread there about the issue.

  • Not using an audio interface. I just open LP, activate Auv3 Soft Drummer, start the clock, and play a groove. I'll try to leave a comment in the Lumbeat Discord. Thanks so much espiegel123!
