    A Few DiscoDSP apps are currently on Sale.

    Does OB-xD come with a lot of presets?

    Yes, a lot. Approximately two thousand.

    There is a newer version with a new gui, and a few other improvements, but it is iPad only. So far Ive stayed with the original and been very happy with it. Some people didn’t like the layout of the original version, and I’ll admit it’s not a great layout for sound designing from scratch. However it has so many patches that i just stick with the presets in OBxD, with the occasional tweak.

    Personally i really like the sound of OBxD and i use it a lot. Some people didn’t like the preset system, which has been updated, but i never thought it was that bad, especially on the iPad with more room to maneuver. I’ve always liked its warm analog sounds. It hasn’t been updated in a bit but I've never had any issues with it. Check out some videos to see if it looks and sounds like something you might enjoy before purchasing. Cheers.

    That is.

    The one that is on sale is not.

    It would be nice if they indicated in the description of the older one that a newer version is available. I made the mistake of purchasing the old version, was denied a refund by Apple twice and the dev wouldn’t offer a promo code for the newer version.

    Admittedly my mistake for not researching to see if a newer version was available. That said, most every other out-of-date app indicates the presence of a later version in the description.

    Chord Bud 2 is $2 off at $3.99, app just had several great updates. AUv3 midi chord sequencer.

    This is an app that i personally use a lot. Its great to create or now with update, generate chord progressions to quickly get a track going. You can also add the chords you want. Multiple progression patterns and pattern song chaining. Tons of chord types and scales. Well worth the price if you like using midi chord apps.

    I should call it ChordBud 3 at this point :smiley:

    That would be fair. I’ve always been a massive fan of the app.

    Yea that can be tough. You live, you learn.

    I didn’t realize the new version OBxD 3 was also available for iPhone. After checking it looks like iPhone compatibility was added to the new version in an update about 5 months ago.

    Yea, new versions are often mentioned in the description, but not always. I try to remember to do a final check before i buy anything just to make sure I'm not buying an old version of something.

    I really hope DiscoDSP keeps both versions going. The original version OBxD hasn’t had an update in 3 years, but the newer version OBxD 3 has had plenty of recent updates, as recently as a week ago.

    @maxxpower18
    Ive always wondered when i might have to get the new version, so you might want to consider the newer one over the original. Maybe wait for a sale if you like. I only say that because the newer version is more likely to be around longer. Even though I’m plenty happy with the original, going forward, it looks like OBxD 3 will be the one that gets all the attention. Just an fyi.

    Just purchased, its excellent! @cem_olcay love your work! Apologies for making a cheeky, but (for me!) incredibly useful feature request- for a future release, would it be possible to add in an option to output the root chord note as a bass/lowest note, in addition to the chord selected, regardless of the chord inversion? This would be ideal to use Chordbud to drive bassline apps whilst keeping the nicest sounding chord inversion output too. Thanks for considering :smile:
