Hey, Australian summer starts in December...
Patience is a virtue….when waiting for updates from Roland. It’s actually a religious experience like the rapture. No man knows the day or the hour and it will come like a thief in the night. That means it will take time and arrive when you least expect it. But when it does arrive it should work and be relatively stable. That’s one of Rolands strengths and why I have used their stuff for thirty yeaars.
You are a wise man😎.

We are now in August and still no update from Roland.
I’m so glad for your constant reports on what hasn’t happened, I mean if you didn’t I would think it had happened and then get disappointed finding it hasn’t. Thank you so much and keep it up!
PS: I hope you're as frequently telling Roland direct what they haven't done. That'll put some pressure on.
Without going into any discussion… they know. Trust me. Patience gents, patience🙏.

It Ain't Much But It's Honest Work. 😂
Did we say soon? Not sun?
I’ll just add this tidbit of obvious information; Roland isn’t the first company and certainly won’t be the last to start hyping a software product for release only to have grossly underestimated the time it takes to deliver.
🤣
Well played.

Check my cover out while waiting. Signature sounds are AudioKit but the rest is ZC1 in Zenbeats, which soundwise is Zencore, and with sounds from Zenology GX.

The more I play with Korg iM1, the less I care about this… iM1 + all the carts is all the Rompler you need. And if you want a desert island synth engine, ElasticOSC is it.
Agreed. Korg iM1 and its IAPs, Korg Module Pro and its IAPs, Beathawk and its IAPs, and Iconica Sketch are all I need as far as "rompler" sounds are concerned. Verve and Etude and Ravenscroft for solo pianos as well.
I used to use Pure Synth Platinum 2 and its IAPs, but the total download size is over 100gb large! (Then again, since my M3 Air and 16 Pro Max are 1TB each, I may redownload PSP2 to use within Groove Rider 2.)
As far as I've seen, there's nothing in Zenology GX that isn't covered better elsewhere in my opinion.
Yes sir! Add in the Moog apps, Synthmaster 3 and now Halion and we're pretty much equipped with a crazy arsenal of sonic potential:) I'm beginning to think that Roland's Zenology AUv3 delay is more related to business strategy rather than technical issues. They seem to want to leverage the whole Roland Cloud/Ecosystem subscription thing whereas the previously mentioned apps are subscription free. It is really annoying seeing them continue to release promotional videos on social media touting Zenology GX Standalone for IOS as if it is useful. Like, just be quiet until you've implemented AUv3. AUv3 is not something that they have to build from scratch.....
@Dham : it seems unlikely that the delay is an intentional strategy…it only hurts them. Companies know that being very late on delivery hurts them. They try to avoid it.
Far more likely is underestimating the time to completion.
Even big companies can get things totally wrong on that front—and often it is a small team tasked with something larger than available time/resources allow.
Yeah, I guess we should realize that this is a whole new arena for Roland. I've been a big fan of their hardware since the 90's and still have quite a bit of it that still works (SP-808, Fantom X6, MC-505 and a few others). Hopefully they will get it together and overcome this stumbling block. Who knows, one day we may see an IOS MC-505, SP-808, VariOS, etc.:).....
I do think the app is done. I think they are arguing over the cost.
Maybe they are looking forward to reading your weekly comment and don’t want it to stop. 😉
When they first announced it would go auv3 I thought it would be months away which it has been… It’ll be out by September
lol. 😂
Every day is one day closer, right folks?

❣️ A LOVE LETTER TO ROLAND ❣️
My warmest advice to ROLAND:
Reconsider!
Because the next outcry will begin as soon as you release the AUV3 and charge a reasonable price for it.
I'm pretty sure you don't intend to sell it for $6.99???
You're getting your hopes up completely. You won't gain a single additional customer for your hardware with this, and you won't be able to sell a single additional Roland Cloud subscription... Not to mention that you'll only sell a handful of plugins anyway.
They're just trying to make a fuss and portray themselves as supposed experts. Most of them haven't even finished a single line of music.
They're just putting on a show and trying to act like experts. My advice: See this as a test and a minor setback, and continue as you have been: reliably supplying the professional market with hardware, as you have been successfully doing for over 50 years.
(By the way, this is coming from someone who's been buying your products for almost 30 years. Do I really need this synthesizer?
No.
I can do all of that much better directly with the Jupiter X.)
(And thank you so much for the 10 lifetime license keys for your software synthesizers that I received for free with my Roland Cloud membership over the last 5 years! I still haven't redeemed them, but it's very generous of you.)
❤️
@82sechskant_weide
Are you saying they shouldn’t release the AUv3 plugin?
Comes with 4,000 sounds expandable to 11,000 all of which haven’t even been decided or even announced. Who knows what it will actually sound like eventually ?
Sorry for the long wait without checking in. All the soon memes are warranted (and funny). I definitely underestimated when I said early summer but that's how software projects go sometimes. We appreciate the continued interest of course and are working hard to bring the AU plugin to the next release along with numerous improvements!
With that said, I WILL be more active here with updates and will share more info this month.
Thanks @MatthewAtZenbeats for the update. It’s appreciated.
Sounds good. Thank you for the update.
