    Spool - Tape Synth is free to download with a Pro IAP at $9.99, pocket synth, sampler, and 4 track tape recorder. App Store description says AUv3 plugin support is planned for a future update.

    I do agree regarding developers not having video demos with sound on the AppStore generally but these two apps are sequencers so presumably they don’t actually produce sound?

    I got it to respond to Fishtail midi sent from AUM, but it keeps losing connectivity. Plus, it is playing back in a standalone sound module fashion, so not very useful to people around here I would imagine.
    But for a sample source, this app is full to the brim. 36 thousand FM patches for free, simple pad-based grid to load and play groups of presets. Pretty cool, indeed.

    Well, I can't recommend this one. The AUV3 version is almost totally unresponsive. Not a single dropdowns works...
    No tempo or run sync as far as I can see...

    Intereresting idea though...

    Yeah, like most of these midi generators, sounds rough at faster speeds, when you slow things down and maybe cap the velocity you start to get something slightly more usable maybe.

    In standalone i was able to record and export the midi for free.

    No, it doesn't work even when it's unlocked. I did that right away, I figured $1.99 was worth a try...

    I've contacted the developer...we'll see what happens...

    Nah, i got it free a while ago but haven’t messed with it too much. Are you saying theres an issue exporting? Or are you recommending exporting? Just curious. I could test if you are having issues.

    Couldn't AUVsee it in Logic etc so wondered if there was a way to simply record loops etc....

    Right on. i don't think it’s an AUv3, but I'm not certain on that. I could take a look, but there’s always the option of screen recording, then extracting the audio from the video.

    It does say “play along with DJ Controller or other music apps” in the description, but doesn’t specify how that is possible, other then literally playing them together without any on device connections.

    Update - after a quick test, i didn’t see anyway to record. Also theres a few app reviews on the US App Store and both mention that the app does not have any connectivity and they would like to see the ability to record added.

    So it seems like there is no way to record inside the app, unfortunately. Which leaves screen recording, and extracting the audio from video.

    Thanks for the thoughtful thoughts. I ALWAYS forget about screen recording :), but still let's hope they add a little exportage along the way...
