I was looking at the Steinberg App Store page and happened to notice that, because I own their Verve piano I was offered as a bundle price, the Etude piano for $1.00.

Seemed like a pretty good deal.

  • Dang it, I just watched a video by @jakoB_haQ and realized how cool Phase Chimes looks/sounds, went to the App Store and unfortunately the intro sale is over. I snoozed, and i lose’d. Lol. It’s definitely on my wishlist now. Anybody loving this one, it seems really useful?

Phase Chimes is unique in that a notes timing is dependant on gear size and connection. As a result it gives some very unique phrasing.

Tip. send a simple/slowish phrase out to a chord app (like ChordJam) for some nice chord progressions

I got all the Quartet apps early on, at first the ability to export stems to a DAW was an IAP but later on they started including this feature at initial purchase without having to do the IAP thing.

So maybe the IAP on the App Store are a thing of the past. I was looking to drop the solo guitar out but can't find a mixer. Thought maybe it was an IAP.

The app store is is annoying that way. It lists any current or past IAPs there, confusing...

These apps are also a bit confusing too btw. There's not a mixer like you're looking for. You have to go to Settings and choose the mix you want in "Alternative Mixes". The only way you can get a single instrument is by exporting the song as separate parts. Which are actually exported as a GarageBand file. I told them this current method is really a pain more than a year ago, but here we are, still the same terrible system.

Good to know thanks. That explains a lot of what I see in the App Store IAP sections.

    I think that has changed

  • edited August 24

It’s late in the night where I am with insomnia but apparently the Quartet apps’ developer has pushed an update yesterday which (along with a few other things) includes a “mixer with independent reverbs on each channel” according to the release notes on App Store , I’ll update mine tomorrow, we’ll see…

edit oops sorry missed @Jer4 post with screenshot of the new mixer

  • edited August 24

@Jer4 oh good, is that in settings? And can you now export a single track as a wav file?

  • @Gavinski said:

Yes, it’s in the settings, select the custom tab. For export I think it’s still the GarageBand thing.

Yeah that whole GarageBand thing is ludicrous imo, pity it's not been changed.

A question about these instruments: the AppStore description of for example Etude says “meticulously sampled”. At 22.1 mb?

I would think in that size “meticulously physically modeled”
