Problem redeeming a code :SOLVED

I have received a code from a dev, but the app is not downloading. When I go to the App Store, I enter the code in the correct field, and I get this message:

But the app doesn't arrive. We (the dev and I) have tried with 4 different codes, to no avail.

I'm deliberately not mentioning the app or the dev, since it doesn't seem relevant. The app is definitely compatible with the ipad I am using.

This ever happened to anyone else? Any ideas?

Comments

  • Only times when I've had that happen is when the app is not available in My region or if the app has not yet been 'released' yet.
    You could check the Your 'purchase history' (redeemed apps get added there as well) and see if the app is there?

  • If it was because the app wasn't available in your region, you'd get a different error message. I've had some weird issues with the AppStore recently too, tho different from this. Try force restarting your iPad. Signing in and out of your AppStore account also might fix it

  • Thanks @Gavinski and @Samu . Tried all these things but no joy. I was on the Test Flight, so it occurred to me that maybe that was the cause of the issue, but I let the dev know, and he suggested that I get rid of the Test Flight version and try a new code that he'd sent....but that didn't work. Weird. Back to the drawing board....

    @Kashi

    since nobody is offering...i'd be happy to be your official code tester. ;)

    simply send me all of the codes you receive and I'll let you know if they worked.

  • Thanks folks. This is now sorted. The error was mine: the beta version that I had was in a folder on my home page, as opposed to the home page itself. So every time I put a code in, I was expecting the app to appear on my homepage, ....Lesson learned :#
