  • Holy cow, making my own kits with the web browser and open in patterning from Audioshare works great! I'm supposed to be out cutting wood dammit! Anyway this update is much more stable and I was having a ball but time to go start the saw back up I guess. I will be able to drum my winter away by a cozy fire at least. Going to have to take a look at making my own kits inside patterning from my stored user samples next.

  • I hope the sample audition will just be worked in to the existing interface and not a new section or buttons added.

Unless i'm not seeing it, the best way would be to have the sample selection circle buttons audition on second and subsequent taps. Were there other ideas I missed? Curious.

You could layer up on those cold winter days with some drumpants if the wood runs out.

I would suggest just a tap of the sample image on the right, instead of returning you to the pattern screen, will audition. Just tap the menu bar "pattern" to return to the radial editor.

Gentlemen: I think we have enough wood for the wife's wardrobe.

  • I feel like I want an iPad just to get this app.

Of course, it wouldn't just stop there...

  • Samplr and Sector round out the package.

  • Gadget for a perfect square

  • Thumbjam for the five point star.

  • Orphion for a circle of unity

I have 20 face chords worth of Cherry , Maple and Yellow Birch from 6 to 24 inches in diameter , I can keep busy for awhile! A lot of this will not get burned this year or at least until January for most of it. It gets to twenty or thirty below with wind here frequently then.

  • @Tritonman said:

I hear you. Austin doesn't get that weather but Maine does. But that's a lot (a lot) of wood whatever the weather. For our more clement friends a standard cord is something like four feet high by four feet wide by eight feet long, so 20 cords of wood will most certainly warm you twice (when you split it and when you burn it).

  • edited October 2015

A face cord is a third that as it is just wood stove length or roughly 16 to 18 inches . No one sells full chords to home owners around here and I burn roughly 15 of those face chord a year. So for 800 dollars to heat my home at those temps for all of this year and part of next is a great deal. Oh and I keep my temp around 75 degrees or more most days and nights.

  • Patterning app update chatter leads to conversation about splitting wood. Of course!

This sounds like a general store in Kennebunkport! Ahuh, cahn tget face cohds anymoh round heah, but tha Pahtehning update is looking right regulah. Cracking up.

  • BTW, dragging the converstaion back to Patterning, I just asked the developer if it were possible "to allow specific midi setups to be saved, to be recalled in other patterns/songs when needed" and was told, " it’s on our feature request list". Good news, I think.

  • @Tritonman said:

We had -20 something here one year - terrifying, though generally it just rains. Can't imagine -30...

Yep midi presets will be great when it arrives. But for now you can use presets in midiflow as a workaround to accomplish this. Setup different Patterning routings in one midiflow preset and then unmute the one you need :)

  • so you can't just save a song as a template?

  • Yes. But midi setup presets would be more flexible.

  • Yeah because sometimes you want to send the same song/pattern to a different synth/drum machine or external on the fly. Being able to assign a different midi preset per pattern would also be a great feature.

  • that's a great idea carnbot, need to get that one on the shortlist

I asked Zillidrone developer to add this feature to his app and he seemed very positive he would put it in. I think it would work even better with Patterning.

  • had -60 back home... Anything under -40 feels the same, you just die quicker.

  • Great Update! OHH CHH :)

And there's more features to come.

    Looking forward..

  • Hey everyone, thanks for the positive vibes! The worst part about putting out updates is clearing all the 5 star reviews and ratings... (hint hint cough cough) .......

I have a lot of cool stuff in the works, so stay tuned :) And let me know if there are issues I need to resolve, suddenly I've got two OS's to keep track of :(

But you might need extra coffee.

  • Posting another 5 star review for an awesome app :)

  • I don't do reviews but think I'll make an exception for this one. Used it for a Fugue Machine songs rhythm last night, and it worked perfectly.

  • Awesome work.....top app
