StrangeAgency apps Sale

  • That Destroyer version is loaded with clips from Telepathe...nice

  • Bought Curtis and Donut, both are amazing for sculpting eerie, glitchy soundscapes. I'm not sure I'll need the other two but for 0.99 each I guess I'll grab those too.

It's very interesting that these apps from 2012 work on iOS 5-9. I wonder why so many other apps break?

If you don't support any APIs like Audiobus and IAA, your app is less likely to break when Apple goes and breaks those APIs in an OS update :)

  • I bought them all. Maybe the revenue generated by this sale will persuade the dev to update...

Same here! I also contacted them suggesting adding AB support.

  • Also did complete my strange-agency-collection, though Megacurtis is still my favourite...,
and I won't give up hope for them to keep developing their great weird tools.

  • I haven't bought any of these yet - without AB or IAA I'm not sure what I'd do with them. Do any of them allow you to record into Auria or Audioshare?

    Oh cool, thank you!

  • @Monzo, unfortunately these are 'pre AB and IAA', although you can use ACP with Curtis , MegaCurtis and CP1919 (then into Audioshare from ACP pasteboard should work ok. I'll check that later when I'm home from work.)

Copy/paste into Curtis and CP, that's about it. If there wasn't anything like them I'd say you need them, but there is so.....but then....oh, I don't know. Penny-wise, app-foolish over here in Austin this morning....

Thanks guys. Think I'll give them a miss, unless there's nothing else in the sales that takes my fancy, though to be honest there's not much left for an appaholic like me left to buy...

Nope, that's not possible. There's a workaround though: you can record and save your performances as wav files, which then u can upload to dropbox, from where u can open, trim, etc. them in Audioshare. I'm not sure what format Curtis and Donut ( the two SA apps I bought today) save the performances into, eventhough they appear as wavs, only they cannot be opened in any app just like that, so u need to convert them first in Audioshare to regular wavs. You can say it's quite a number of steps until you get where you want, still, for 0.99 each this is more than a bargain, especially if you're a sucker for weirder noise-/drone-/soundscape-making tools. And I happen to be one. :)

  • @jooga1972 You can paste the files you save in Curtis directly into the general paste board and paste them directly into GarageBand, AudioShare, or other apps that do ACP.

Thought there should be an easier way. Thanks! :)

Thanks - I am partial to drone weirdness, but I like to tweak the sounds with FX live - either via AB or IAA. I guess I could load them into Audioshare though and play them from there. Hmmm

  • Ive been having lots of drone weirdness fun with curtis...pasted recording in to audioshare then effected with turnado via AB. Its makes sense to do it in two steps instead of live because both steps (playing curtis and fx) can take full attention.

  • Ok dipped my toe in with CP1919 and it crashes after a few minutes of using each time.

Makes sense, maybe I'll give Curtis a go.

What ios are you on? Might be worth a reboot.

    Air2 iOS 9.1

Tried all the usual reboot, redownload etc. It just don't like my iPad lol. Well only 79p wasted.

  • @Fruitbat1919 , I'm on air2 iOS9.1, no problem here , weird one..

Ah ok. Not sure I'd go for this one anyway, hopefully they'll be something else to spend my pennies on tomorrow.

  • I got Curtis and the Cp one but unless they get AB they will get stored in hopes of future development or taken out as a novelty with friends.
