I know it is referred to in the links to the soundestroom app sales page, but this deal is too sweet not to jump on.
iSEM, iMini and iProphet are all going for $4.99, down from $9.99. I got the three of them yesterday and am really impressed at how much is there for $15...to me it's like walking out of a music store hauling three badass hardware synths full of expansion cards for under $20. Insane...
I have a lot of iPad synth apps, these 3 are in the upper teer for sure...oh, and they're TableTop ready for what that's worth.

It was between iSem and Rob Lee presets. I chose RL. Tough decision for me.
Is iProphet as bad as the reviews make it sound?
iProphet has a few talked about bugs, but I've not personally had problems with it. I love it's sound. To be fair, the synth itself had a few problems lol.
For the price it's a steal. The presets need tweaking and programming is either love or hate.....personally I love it.
Very big problem for me, because I don't know how to time the 4 parts weighted timing. it only shows percentage. PC version has seconds (time) adjustment. So it is so unplayable for me. I freeze it till now.
In percentage term, it is far beyond how I can know and control the sounds. Shame!
I can't be bothered with Tabletop either. But the good news is that all the Arturia synths are IAA instruments. iSEM has been updated as an AU instrument just a few days ago. Hopefully the others follow soon. I bought all 3 in the beginning of the year for the same discount, and highly recommend them.
IAA implementation in all three, audio and midi (inside MTS, but probably the other daw too) is tasty and stable, iOS 9.X. 3 killer tools for pennies. Bumpiness in all three has been sorted. Fantastic that iSem is AU.
Love iSEM but it seems like a lot of the presets are really "out there" and the sound designers put lots of effort into making it sound NOT like an Oberheim. It's missing a lot of good basic sounds... brass, strings, warm pads, moogy lead, etc. I wish we could use the presets from the PC version.
I opened it up for the first time in a long while because there is a bug when playing a polyphonic preset that will very very often cause a low rumble that won't stop.
Sadly the glitch hasn't been fixed.

z3ta+ has one that crashes the synth and kills all sound on the device.

I wouldn't worry too much about these apps, unless your using them live. I've found bugs on so many iOS apps, but most are things that happen rarely or can be avoided. Some bugs are not specific to iPad model or iOS version either.
Take iSem. I've used it maybe a hundred or so times and never had any issues, some people have. I personally would use it live.
Take iProphet. I can make the known bug happen by design, but have never had it happen during play. I know it can happen, so probably would not use it live.
Take Thor. Thor crashes on me during opening the app and all sound is lost. This happens maybe 40% of the time. I discussed this and never found anyone else to have come across it. Once opened, if it runs fine, it usually stays fine. I just don't trust the app live.
Are they still worth buying....O yes!

Yep I've noticed iSem is glitching on iOS 9.1 but not on 8.3
I have Thor but can't get me to use it on a continuous basis.
My big favorite of the three is iMini, which for the longest time had the most midi issues and was the biggest pain to actually use (except inside Tabletop) Now I can use it with other apps, and like the other 2 I actually now have zero issues. This within the greater sorta glitchy floating world of updates and compatibility issues that is our realm. When I said o poop it's because it gets a little Yelpy in here sometimes. I'm guilty of it too: I actually bitched about that weird preset in z3ta+ that crashed my iPad (released a city-wide EMP) on this forum and everywhere else I could.

It's all yours friend @Fruitbat1919, partly borrowed of course. Sometimes (when I would be loaded, if I did that sort of thing) I think about what it "means" for us to be doing such an ancient thing in the age of digi-Capital. Fulljoy finds a way as per usual yay!
I always look at iOS music apps this way: for the last 15-20 years I would go into a music store, see a deal on a guitar pedal, buy without a second thought and be on my way (and by deal it varies, we're talking $40 to $60 depending on maker and effect i.e. an ElectroHarmonix pedal for a C note is a deal). That is for the proverbial one trick pony...it may do that one thing beautifully but it is still just a phaser, etc.
So when I am looking at basically a software synth tied to this extremely mobile platform I dig already that is going for $5 bucks I really don't sweat it too much. Then again I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV so maybe the gamble of getting an app is different to me.
I am not wealthy by any means so I do care about spending dough unnecessarily, it is just the iOS apps just seem really inexpensive to me most of the time compared to what I used to spend on gear. Doesn't mean I'll fork over $25 for the complete IAP bundle for TableTop just for curiosity. I will judge an app accordingly by the history and rep of the developer, my experience with apps in the same vein and by the feedback from iTunes reviews and especially the iOS music producing community on forums like this and the many blogs.
Bottom line, $15 for three full featured synths that are very close to their hardware influence, regardless of the quibbles in their performance, seems like a must buy to me for anyone who makes music on iOS and especially music where synths play a part.

I tought i was the only one noticing the glitches, i get them also on iSem as an AU inside MTS on some presets.

I agree with you entirely. Even if there may be a few quirks here and there with any of these synths, the fact that they're still very good apps made me buy all 3 last year at the same 50% off deal. Plus, they get updated. These synths are far from being abandonware, which is something for everyone reading to keep in mind.

I used Android phones since 2010, was a bit anti-Apple lol, and then the wife suprised me with an iPad Air 2 earlier this year. It has reignited my creativity and the whole touch interface and immediacy of the format reminds me of my days with Tascam PortaStudio's, which probably was more fun than my PC/ProTools setup...
