Full Joy: Fugue + Elastic Drums via Link
Sorry. Pointless, contentless discussion topic.
But, wow - this feels like the beginning of 'turning the iPad into a DAW' (@littlewoodg )
They work so well together for jamming a track. Because both have lots and lots of ways to vary their patterns, live.

It is a wow, @Matt_Fletcher_2000 tried same with LP-5, Patterning, Elastic on the iPad. Then fired up Triq Traq on my phone...looks like a "slight" underestimation on my part on the dimensions of this new DAW.
Innarestin' that you choose ED over Pat.
It's a new DAWn
Have bought triq triq too recently because of the link factor, was surprised how good it is. Things are looking good with link and au in the picture...hopefully will get more time to play with it all soon.
Good one!
If I may: the power is just DAWning on me: set a few beat boxes a'spinning on iPad, iPhone, flip over to fav synthi, jamming til they bust through the door and take away my screens
I love Patterning but I picked up ED on this occasion because it's jam page is fantastic I think. Jamming with just a single 1 bar pattern gets you the drums for a whole track. Trigger, freeze, slow, delay, mute, the crazy 'Param' button. All fabulous.
But yesterday I finally really 'got' ED. I think because I was using it on the iPad rather than iPhone. It's a fabulous sound design tool. You can get so much more than just drums out of it. It's very 'deep' and the automation is great. It seems super solid with Link too.
A lot of the presets put me off because they are too harsh. But if you just start from scratch and make use of the random buttons, then tweak from there, you can create some fantastic kits.
The Jam screen in ED is one of my favourite iOS tools/things ever - so fun and you great results ... But I don't love the synthesized drum sounds personally as much as real or other types of drum kits. If Patterning had a similar Jam screen that would be just about perfect!
As is the often the way you send me back to the screen.
Damn you @Matt_Fletcher_2000 ! I've been good lately. Shown masterful self control in not going for the latest must have apps. I get in from a slightly ambitious Christmas run. And you lay this on me! Resolve shattered.
Oh and Merry Christmas to you
I have enjoyed our good natured differences over on SOTMC-uh this year, have learned a lot from you and others and hope the New Year sees us on similar form
Cheers @Jocphone - glad to play the role of enabler. And a merry Christmas too to you and yours.
Ps I'd have thought the random button on ED would be right up your street from what I've heard of your stuff.
Now I have to take another look too. Merry Christmas, Mr Fletcher.
Thanks. Merry Christmas to you Mr A.S.Nor
@Matt_Fletcher_2000, hi, how are you sending note information into ED from 4 fugue heads? All fugue heads sending on the same midi channel ? I must be missing something...
I'm not. I'm having Fugue play itself (or ISem in MTS). ED is just synced, playing its own patterns.
One bit of fun is using Fugue Machine to drive Egoist.
Oh my word. Possibilities and madness.
Tweaked a nice pattern in Fugue for Synthmaster and can see the pleasures of Electric Drums via jam but am not good enough with ED to make it fly yet. Still something having an ambient multi-layer via fugue and ED kicking in just right. Have found Patterning easier to merge sounds, but I have my own kits already (and am impatient
). Link is a beautiful thing.
How? Are you driving the sampler? I can't seem to get it working
I think only the bass synth responds to note information.
I am sending notes from Fugue Machine to the Egoist slicer. C5 and up. be sure to hit the keyboard button in the lower left corner of Egoist. This will allow you to trigger slices via midi.
Aha! Thanks
