My ukulele has a bridge pickup and works fine, I tried also with the ipad mic and my acoustic guitar
it was not too bad but you can't clear your throat and need earphones
Damn! Now you've got me looking at these http://www.voxamps.com/ukelectric
http://www.anuenue-uke.com/en/ukulele/one/20/68
I happy with this one (I had to move the pickup under the bridge for it to work though)
Very nice. They don't appear to be available in the UK though.
I like this little uke piece, pierre , mine's an Ortega Tenor with a build in pickup
now I think I need this app too
My guitar is a Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance. Nylon Strings. Pickup Piezo Fishman Aura. Work perfectly!
Dreaming about a godin multiac for more than 10 years now, my main guitar is a nylon AMI and my music formation is classical guitar ... Can't get use to those steel strings...
Maybe one day...
Thanks again to the dev' midi guitar is really cool, and for anybody wondering, work really nice with gadget !
Yes I was using Darwin in gadget earlier this afternoon and it sounded truly stunning on Many of the patches. I tried IM1 stand alone and that was great as well. Just so much more fun playing all the instruments from the fret board instead of keys as a guitarist. My friend stopped by this afternoon and he does not play much and his noodling sounded pretty sweet I must say. Slides sound very good with horns or strings like I said earlier.
I used the sonuus app before and really liked it but midi guitar is much nicer because of polyphony and all the settings,
tweaking the app let us find the "sweat spot"
I take back my tracking issues, just didnt have enough patience. Love this app, especially for arpeggios on the isem/imini. For the 20-30 bucks, I've always been astounded at how good it is for about 1/20th the price of a Fishman or Roland
Thanks for stopping by @JamOrigin, it's always great to see devs engage with the users around here! I enjoy the new version of the app a lot and find the new features very useful.
Great to know that you are looking into Audiobus and IAA/AU support and are planning to improve the internal sounds as well. MIDI controller support will also be fantastic for switching patches etc... As a bass player it would be nice to have the option to turn on bass mode. Any chance for that to make it into a future update? I know the tracking gets worse down there but it would still be cool to be able to use it for less timing critical sounds. Also I thought it would be cool to be able to set the range of notes to get processed so only notes played within a set range from lowest to highest note will trigger MIDI. Another nice thing would be a decent reverb effect with tweakable parameters apart from the Master IR reverb effect.
I have been having a freaking ball with this app! Last night it was Z3TA+ that consumed my evening on the virtual midi side of things. Today I might give a go at some of the Imini patches.. Really looking forward to background audio and a way to record both through either IAA or AB.
@JamOrigin, I am using a 4-input audio interface, and I usually have my guitar plugged into input 3. I noticed that MIDI Guitar 2 only recognizes my first two inputs. Is it possible to make it see all of my interface's inputs?
Also, one minor quirk, whenever I minimize this app, or come back to it, it makes a little 'pop' sound in my speakers. Using NI Komplete Audio 6.
The tracking is amazing in version 2!
Thanks!
@JamOrigin any chance for an alternate turnings mode in the future? That is, I leave my guitar in EADGBE but the MIDI output can be set as if it were in an alternate tuning?
@Santosgera, yes maybe we should put a splitter in there as well to avoid MidiBridge. The desktop version has that.
@lukesleepwalker. Thanks for thoughtful feedback on the patch-sharing idea. We'll think about it.
@pierre, nice to hear it works with e-ukulele! Great little tune.
@Hmtx it should be good with acoustics - although it will give some spurious hits. If pickups are very hot make sure you increase noise gate.
@Munibeast Thanks for all the feedback. We have "MIDI Bass" for desktop, but its still too CPU intensive for mobile.
@gburks. Yes, we are aware of this limitation with only 2 input channels. Will try to address!
@syrupcore. You can use different tunings, but MG cannot generally transpose your thing into something else. That would require string-detection which is something we'll have to look into in the future.
@JamOrigin: is it possible to set up multiple MIDI channel outs from MG2?
Experience: Midi Guitar IOS, NoteSplitter in MidiBridge, Audiobus, Auria Pro and Strings Ensemble by ThumbJam. iPad Air 2 with IOS 9.2.1 in Alesis IODock 1ª Gen.
Wow that's great! Nice work
Thanks, @TGIG!
Very good playing !
Thanks, @pierre!
This song is by Paulinho Nogueira, great brazilian musician.
Beautiful tune, beautifully played. Love the midi guitar accompaniment too!
Midi Guitar is fantastic!
Do this without specific hardware is amazing !
Thanks
Been using Midi Guitar 2 constantly for the last month or so, and this isn't a complaint per se, but has anyone found tracking in Gadget to be spotty compared to other apps? Sunrizer for example, it's mind blowing how smooth tracking can be, whereas in Gadget I struggle to input things in time / real time even with a single gadget open.
Maybe it's just me. Or is it that the latest update to Gadget has introduced some latency? I was without an iPad for a little while, I could be imagining things.
I'm connecting to an up-to-date Air 2 with my iRig HD, Gadget is set to its fastest latency, playing in the sweet spot on the neck where things generally track clean and quiet. Again most of the other apps I try are unbelievably smooth, it's an amazing app! I guess I'll just choose to see it as a positive, getting me out of the walled garden of Korg apps.
If you don't think Midi Guitar is worth buying until it has Audiobus support then you may be missing the point of what this amazing App excels at. I use Audiobus in all my music making and now I use the Midi Guitar midi output for various iOS synths, but I don't need Audiobus support within Midi Guitar to be able to do that.
The included synth is a nice feature, but far from the main deal, particularly with so many other synth options. If you have a guitar you have to try this, it is a major revolution.
Yup, this. I use it purely as a MIDI controller and it's magical how well it works. The advantage of AB might be if it supported state saving--I sometimes forget to open MG if I already have the sound generating app open.
@lawren Sorry to say that I don't have gadget so I can't try to replicate your issues. It works flawlessly with every app I've thrown in its way.
You run any app through audiobus still while using any other midi enabled app through audiobus and midi guitar just works great! Just set midi guitar to virtual midi out. You can even control multiples I think. get it, if you play guitar at all you won't regret it!
@Nathan that's right, the app needs input from a physical guitar to do its thing.
Correct, if you don't play "real" guitar, this app is likely of little use to you.
