So true.
? Kind of random...?
I had a friend GIVE me an original TB303 in mint condition because it didn't work. Turms out it looked and worked like new if you knew how to use it.
I actually ended up selling it specifically because I wanted the first iPhone. Neat in a museum sort of way, but a bit played out sound for me to justify keeping it. Gulp!
I think they put out the tr-09 to show off just how good the tr8 is.
This comparison doesn't bode well for the new one.
Strange, I actually like the tr-09 the most in that vid, tr-909 sounds a little more spacious, tr8 just sounds really thin doing the 909 kit, tr-09 is a bit more narrow but I like the tone of the kit, especially the kick.
909 is a bit brighter in the video, nothing a little eqing can't fix.
in comparison to the other 2 the tr8 sounds a little dull.
Might be all it needs but to my ears the TR8 and the 909 sounds were discernible whereas the 09 sounded like mush. Like a tape dupe.
To me the main take away is just how good the TR8 sounds and is filled with modern conveniences.
i can't tell like this,
i would need to hear some kind of track and arrangement to hear who is pushing it harder
sometimes stuff sounds great alone, but strange in context with other stuff
flexibility wise the tr8 wins - you can at least mix all the overused sounds from 5 X0Xs (there a also a few new sounds not to be heard from the old machines like fingersnap, some clap and some noisy toms)
that makes a not so boring drum set for sure if you are used to the flexibility of a sampler
I'd have to hear it for real. It sounds different in different YT vids. The comparison vids are not very good IMHO.
the sequencer was a piece of shit, I could always hear here comes the next "1" with mine
didnt feel groovy, more like hobbling
my mc303 is giving me "err"ors now. so i can live my life stress free! until i get it fixed.
I wonder if this tb is finally the end of the tb story and all its sideways
No one said a word about the new vp330 ähm vp-03
that should be instant kraftwerk out of the box
so just to confirm none of these work with the aira mixer via usb like the aira line?
Apparently all the other boutiques do work with the MX1 via USB (although you'll have to power them with batteries in that case).
when you say all the other, you mean not these three new ones right?
I have not seen any statements regarding the new ones either way. But since they are part of the Boutique range it makes sense for them to share the same features. Why not ask Roland? They're quite active on Facebook.
thanks... they haven't responded to any Q's I've asked in couple of days but I guess it's a good bet... eventually.
It is like buying the same car 1million already has or buying the same kitchenaid and baking something you live and want
Heritage and flavour id say
It's like in sound design
You make all these cool new noises
And then people ask for something they know already,
"Something less crazy", lol
Most people aren't really interested in new sounds
They want something they know already and can relate to,
It's some kind of nostalgia I guess
The same thing happens if you listen to a cool new track and all of a sudden you hear a 3 sec sample you know and your inner nerd is jumping up and down because you remember where this is lifted from
It's probably because it has everything you could want within it. Nothing so simple could sound as good. It's so easy to get lost within it's malleability whether you are playing or listening to it. A simple tweak can curl your neural pathways and excite you at the same time as soothing you. There is quite simply- nothing better- it can only be equalled- which is what theTB 03 is trying to do...... if you like that sort of thing
Like I said before- who wouldn't want one if it were handed to you?
Anyone notice that the slide is really off on the tb-03? I hope it was just the way those guys from Adsr programmed it but sitting next to a real 303, the original just sounded so much more elastic in its slides
I'm happy so Roland has bought these reissues out. For years people were wanting them to create more, & they said they wouldn't., when they closed down the TR & TB series........ Bravo to Roland!........ Now Roland, how about another Super Duper MC909, or make a MC1000?........
yes lawwwd!
As ABBA once sang-
Gimme Gimme Gimme a TB 303 after midnight
Don't you understand that's how the groove goes.
Deelaleedeladeee Deelaleedeladeee.
System-8 module would be nice
Just to let you know- I have the TB03 now- totally happy with it... worth every penny... can't put it down. It blows away every other TB303 emulator that I have had.
How do you use it with the iPad? Can you connect it through usb?
