Korg Gadget Question

  • Audio tracks (and hopefully the abily to Audobus and IAA into them) is the game changer that we are waiting for!

  • Or perhaps a gadget that emulates the sounds of construction equipment? That may be most appropriate!

    I could dig that!

    That would be nice.

Which leads me to also ask do people ever use Korg Bibao to make hiphop sampled beats? I'm thinking about giving it a try but would probably slice my chop in something else than import them. It would probably be a pain to slice them in that thing.

  • Anyone know how to select a notes in track so I can transpose them to lower octave?

Hit the box selector thingy in piano roll. Then press the transpose minus button twelve times. Make sure you count out loud. Oops you can drag them down as well

  • But how do I select all notes recorded and transpose them all at once ?

  • Hit the select tool, hold your finger down on an empty part of the piano roll, drag a rectangle that touches all the notes, then either drag them down or hit the "-" button. Dragging is accomplished by long-pressing one of the selected notes until you see a shadow below them, then dragging into position.

  • Thanks Wimb that seemed to work but on the iPhone it's a bit tricky to extend the grab box across all 16 measures. That's why've wish there was a way to "select all" in order to highlight all the notes and then transpose them.

  • Yes, would be nice. Also if you could do it from the session view and transpose a whole pattern at a time. Maybe someday.

  • Thanks Wim was able to do it piece by piece on the iPad but now I have to wait for it to sync with gadget iPhone don't know how long that'll take.

Save it again. Then it should sync much quicker.

Hello, Sorry if this is the wrong board to ask this but Korg doesn't have one and I know many of folks in here use Korg gadget.

KORG do have a Gadget forum https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/community/topics/200037165-Korg-Gadget
However, as you've seen, this still may be the better place to ask ;)

Also you can make a full zoom and it's much easier to select all the notes at once, even on 16 measures... Ok would be easier to have one simple button to do it ;)

korg's forum is the worst. at least the ios section. even though i'm not huge into audiobus this seems to be the best place to have these conversations that i have found.

That's mostly what I do in Korg Gadget... Best App to make Hip Hop Beats on iPad IMO... But you need to chop your samples in another App (BeatMaker2 on my side... I wish I could do it in Bloc Waves but it is not the case currently...)...

Example (and there are many more on my soundcloud page... About 25-30 of them I think lol):

Sorry man... I'm not that much into video (I don't know how to do that)...
But I will definitly think about it and see if I can do something (I need to find a way to correctly record what I do on my iPad + some voiceover for explanations... so if you have any input on how to do this, maybe you can help me help you lol ;-))...

Thanks a lot man... Did you listen to my other tracks (mostly sample based and all done and posted directly from Gadget) ?

That, and to have an octave transpose, to save on all that counting

I own an SP-404SX, so I'm interested to see how you're using your SP with Gadget. Post up a video when you can.

Hello, Sorry if this is the wrong board to ask this but Korg doesn't have one and I know many of folks in here use Korg gadget.

With that said my question is, is it possible to copy notes. I don't mean from one bar to another but I mean selecting a few notes and then copying them to make more of them on the piano roll with in the same key. I know beatmaker 2 has that in it's piano roll and most do. I hope I being clear enough when asking this.

Ok use the select note thing that lets you select multiple notes too left corner whilst in the piano roll, select your notes then you should see copy in the bottom left corner, press that then notes should be yelllow hold notes and drag to where you want them. Hope I've explaind that right? Hope it helps
