    Tagged for flagging hate speech!

    Should I tag this with
    #demo
    #boring

as much fun as a headache or

#dont bother me with your seo
    ?

  • classic #lala #edit

  • We tested the top ten thread tags - you won't believe what we found!

  • Never quite grasped the whole idea of tagging. I do enjoy an occasional plate of tagliatelle though.

    I'd love to see a simple off-topic category :)

  • The forum IMHO is fine as is

yep. i just avoid the threads with the unhelpful titles.

  • Everyone's opinion here is as valid as mine, but there are quite a few forum members whose first language is not English. With that in mind, I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Not that I click through every thread -- far from it.

    Wouldn't it remain empty, though?

  • OT ,could be any thread like this one , or Mac / PC related , hardware synth etc...

    Definitely something to consider

  • Even though I personally believe Google is evil at heart, I have to say it's very effective for searching this forum. Why try to re-invent the wheel? If it were me (and we're all thankful it's not!) I would just replace the search box with the tip below and be done with it.

It's easy look at the line in italics ...

Maybe just move to google search like this
    inurl:audiob.us "sonic abuse"
    ?

But then if that were in the off-topic category it'd be on-topic.

  • Hmm. The rubbish search on vanillaforums is going to be a problem if this turns out to go the incorrect way in the near future: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-site-search-operator-survey-23512.html - why do google keep axing their good stuff, evil greedy money-grabbing bastards. Why can't they be more like Apple?

  • How about, before posting a thread...if it's a track it goes in the Creations category. Most peeps adhere to the polite convention, a few usual suspects however ignore it, even after others have mentioned and highlighted the forum policy.

I'm much more likely to listen to a track posted in the Creations thread. It's why I go there.

  • Because courage.

I hope they don't kill it because I use it frequently. But even if they do, there are competitors who offer similar functionality. Even some who don't seem to want to put their hand in your pocket.

always thought it would be nice if titles of threads were more specific.

I agree in spirit, but in practice this forum has been pretty good in that respect. I left another music forum that had multiple unhelpful titles like "Holy ****!" or "I'm so ****ing stupid!" (though the actual discussion would be quite normal), and those were from the guy running the place so I didn't say anything and just left.

I usually ignore "mystery" (and especially non-music) threads until I see that they're growing in size and there must be something interesting going on in them and then I check it out -- like this one.

But I have no problems with this forum at all. Terrific, timely and helpful topics, discussions and users; lively but manageable traffic, etc. Thanks, Audiobus team.
