  • Hi, thanks for posting here. What exactly does a subscription enable the user to achieve? What can be done without a subscription?

  • Congrats on the release. Same questions as @jocphone. I see the screenshot of it running in AUM.

  • It looks good. I'm not ready for the subscription thing ATM. Maybe someday I will be forced to do it.

  • hey, any news on when you'll fix MicSwap? it would be more usefull if the au could remember its state.

That would be. They put out an update over the weekend, just ios improvs though.

they were also talking about a landscape version and interface improvements quite a while ago, I wonder if that is still being worked on ...

  • Thanks everyone. We're working on landscape mode for MicSwap and also state recall in AU. Thanks for the recommendations. It's helpful.

Without a subscription you can still import audio, you just can't export. A subscription gives you unlimited exports of all kinds and unlimited AB, AU, IAA usage.

Ah, so without the subscription it doesn't work in Audiobus?

Correct. You get it all with any subscription length.

  • Was under the impression that third-party apps could not charge extra for Audiobus functionality.
    Pass.

You are correct. We're not charging for Audiobus, we're charging for unlimited use of the app. That includes everything, WAV, M4A, mono and stereo exports.

  • Considering the business model, it makes 100% sense that it shouldn't work in AB without paying first. Totally respect that and hope the AB team will too but yeah, it runs afoul of the no charging for AB policy.

Personally, I don't finish enough stuff to make the cost worth it! Still, glad you guys are here and on the Bus. Wish you success with it.

    Got it.
And just looking at the video online: Are there simply presets for various styles of recordings, a la Blues, Country Rock, Jazz, etc? Or if I select "Jazz," can I then further tweak the EQ/compression/limiter, and so forth?

  • @garygary. I have Audiomaster in the effect slot of AB with Loopy in input and GarageBand as the output and I hear no change in the sound whatsoever when I press compare. Tried other configurations as well and nothing.

No the hardware is just a picture you have no control over the parameters. My guess is its just using an EQ curve. So there's no analyzing the track your mastering . So if you use rock preset it will apply the exact same EQ curve to every song you use the rock preset on. So 14 EQ curves in total. That you subscribe to ........................

  • Ok. That just got by me. It appears that I've used my one time free trial and now have the option to subscribe.

The app will work differently standalone than it does in the effect slot. Standalone it will boost, compress and apply the limiter as well as the genre preset, but as an effect it applies the genre and you control the output since it's now an effect. Make sense?

  • @hacked_to_pieces That's not true. It is analyzing your track. When using standalone it masters your audio to peak at an output of -.3db and then you choose the preset that sounds best to you.
