  • Didn't see that coming... Guess link in BM3 is a given, now.

  • That's quite a big deal. Is it the first iOS Daw with Link?
Does anyone know whether Beatmaker 3 is an update from 2?

Not sure whether to get it or wait for 3

BeatMaker 3 is an entirely new app! :-)

    Amazing!

    And it's on iPhone too.

This makes it a serious choice again for sequencing stuff on/from an iPhone... (given that ModStep doesn't run on the phone). E.g. BM2 into AUM on an iphone... Very nice.

It's amazingly powerful actually, BM2... Just a little frustrating to set up and use. And doesn't have a scale lock as far as I remember.

Yeah will definitely pick this up or wait for 3. An iphone Daw is something I don't have yet even though the SE screen is a bit small for a daw it would be useful to have. I wonder when 3 will come out.... Seems they've been in beta since August :)

  • anyone tried it yet? How does it handle audio files changing tempo?

  • Sounds great. That said, I'm likely going to just stick with Gadget until BM3 is released.

The question is: is it expensive?

  • Curious to see how they circumvent all the potential issues with Link and long sound files, etc.. Someone make a video quick, before I'm forced to install it back to my devices.

  • Working great on my iPhone 5s!

  • Just recorded audio output from Soft Drummer into BM2 via Audiobus with midi playing back other tracks in BM2 all synced up rather tightly! Wow all this on my lowly iPhone 5s.

    Here's a previous thread: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/15093/link-implementation-in-a-daw

BM2 is actually a great test bed for them to analyze the issues. They can hopefully work it all out so that BM3 folds the fixes in.

  • Lol @philowerx Appreciate that list.

  • It does work flawlessly, maybe on bm3 there would be an optimized and efficient way to time stretch audio tracks on the fly....

  • What about Beatmaker 3?

BM3 is in beta. Projected to release early 2017 once bugs are squished.

  • So, is BM2 currently the only sample slicer with movable slice points that has Link?

Don't the Gadget IAPs do that stuff?

  • If Beatmaker 2 can do Link, so can Cubasis & Auria Pro then?......... Even FL Mobile 3?.... As Beatmaker 2 is classed as a DAW?.......... Now redownloading Beatmaker 2.....

  • Keep in mind that currently BM2 does NOT do any kind of real-time time-stretching...

Thanks @aaronpc Good thread. I don't adjust tempo but that would potentially be a huge problem if you were playing back audio files in DAW without time stretch and someone adjusted tempo from a Linked app. Has anyone tried this with BM2?
