Quadrophonic output?

Does anyone know if it would be possible to send more than 2 audio channels out of my iPad?

I really want to start playing live quadrophonic shows with my iOS setup.

Or even octophonic! I've been to a few octophonic concerts, and they were amazing.

Anyway, playing iOS in some sort of surround sound would be a dream. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Everest looper supports quadrophonic input and output.

  • If you have the hardware for it, several apps will allow you to address more than two physical outputs. Very easy in AUM for instance.

  • I have been trying this very hard, on ios only, and have come to the conclusion again and again, to better use my mac for my setup (used to do quadrophonic, then found Logics binaural abilities, and since am very happy with it...). In my opinion ios still has a long way to go concerning surround playabilities, it's just so much easier, and more comfortable, to use the more advanced stuff on PCs, controlled and frequency-shifted via K-Mix and Quneo. If you find ways to do this stuff on ios, please let us know though, I'm always interested... . Cheers, t

  • Like mentioned above, the iConnect Audio4+ will give you four outs (technically six) with apps that let you choose the outputs per track, e.g. Auria, Aum - it also has its own mixing/routing software, and you can simultaneously use it as your computer's interface. Got one recently and very happy with it. Takes a little while to get set up, but once it's going, it's solid.
