    Feedback type is efficiency/ workflow

    Apple audio units version 2/3

    To whom it may concern,
please provide a GUI to the apple audio units so I can use them like I can on the Mac.

I can't use the following audio units because they do not provide an user interface.

    AUBandpassFilter
    AUDynamicsProcessor
    AUDelay
    AUDistortion
    AUHighPassFilter
    AUHighShelfFilter
    AUPodEQ
    AULowPassFilter
    AULowShelfFilter
    AUBandEQ
    AUNewPitch
    AUParametricEQ
    AUReverb2
    AUSampleDelay
    AUMIDISynth
    AUSampler

    Thanks.

    (i) Creating an interface for displaying third party apps, extensions, or plug-ins similar to the App Store or as a general-interest collection.

But this AU are more like APIs isn't it?. Provided by apple for developers to use freely with their apps as well as to help them built their apps and that are not meant to be exposed to the user unless the developer desires to do so, they are not third party apps or plugins or extensions. Maybe a standalone app built only on this APIs it's posible but it won't be an AU extension (as it's been explained earlier on this thread)

Also that rules refers to the creation of an unofficial AppStore inside an third party app violating apple rules. It says "Similar to the AppStore" not so much what's been discussed here.

Depends on how you read it
Creating an interface for displaying ...extensions/ plugins ... as general interest collection

General interest collection has more to do with selling any kind of products/apps/software inside your app and then try to bypass the whatever Appstore rules that applies. Not really related to make APIs found in the OS usable to the user.

More importantly these are not even plugins, Are APIs, building blocks for creating apps.

Things is no one did this yet. We are over a year into AUs on iOS, nothing is happening and these things are really useful and they are there already.
On the mac they are there, free to use for everybody, no jumping through hoops, just open your apple Au and there you go and not like this bs here on iOS...and you don't have to worry if ish will still work next year because it's from mother apple
I do a lot of cool things with the apple AUs on the mac, just chain a few together automate them and walk into sonic nirvana.
Come on apple, you can do it.

This is just a sawwave chord and the apple graphic eq, I could do the same with a few parametric eqs ... I can do nice things with these simple tools,
But apple wont let me on iOS

  • Used the Apple feedback link @lala provided. You'll never get what you don't ask for.

  • Here's another app TIZE that includes Apple AU support.

  • Incidentally, I've noticed in the past that Audacity on MacOS exposes all these too, also, as well (and that's barely a 'proper' MacOS app, most of the UI is still Linux-ey GTK in feel and response).

  • If AUNewPitch performs like the basic pitch correction plugin in Logic then it could be a very useful plugin for iOS

There is no convolution reverb Au?

    (i) Creating an interface for displaying third party apps, extensions, or plug-ins similar to the App Store or as a general-interest collection.

This simply means that you can't make your own alternative to App Store, where you display third party apps.

  • I suppose the algorithms of this collection were mainly made by Steffan Diedrichsen (Apple DSP developer, ex Emagic). Most of the should offer quite good quality and very low processor usage. It should be possible, to contact him.
