I would love to be able to edit the default colors of the notepad. Pink and blue would not be my first choice. Anybody know a way to change this?

On my todo list is an LP lightshow using ModStep...just for the hell of it, although i think once I get some sort of profanity scrolling on it, I'll stop there
Last week I was doing exactly that on my beatstep using modstep (I imagine it would work well with IL too). Only two rows of LEDS and all blue but it was fun. I got some poly rhythms going I was quite proud of

Yes, just depends if using Live, or standalone (Sysex). In Live can do it via Midi FX, chains... there's also the new Scale Mode which uses diff colors..
Only the Pro has pink and blue lights (standard is green, red, orange and yellow).
Launchpad MKII also has coloured pads, just like the Pro.

If you don't use Live, then use anything that can send Sysex, like Midiflow. You can use the programmers guide, which spells out all the commands. The rgb chart I linked above, has the hex codes of all the colors. You'd just set midiflow note/velocity values of the pressed pad, which triggers sending the associated color code, that Sysex string is in the programmers reference, so just set up the not velocity restrictions in Midiflow, and add in controller conditions for note and velocity, to send the same (probably several ways here), but I'd guess with subconditions you could map all the pads and colors. Lastly, in programmers guide there is Sysex for selecting the Lp's Mode, set this as a Send Control on Launch in Midiflow and save some buttons.
Hopefully these ideas give ya an idea anyway, of some possible workflows.
@RustiK et al.. I attached an Ableton project file. It's got the setup for custom lights for User Mode 1. In the chain selector I set up the first 2 chains, to light the bottom leftmost two pads - enough show how to build your own. I put some tips in the Info Windows for the Chains/FX. If you have any questions, lemme know!
Also, highly recommend the J74 Harmony Bundle - which is a custom build out of the LPP User Modes - it's got about 40 Scales, plus a Circle of 5ths Mode and a bunch of other features.
