funk drummer is my favorite along with drummer from Garageband
I dont like SOft Drummer too much... because I dont think its really "soft"
I too love the drum in GB
The only one I haven't tried is X-Drummer. I'd be encouraged to give it a go, except I don't need yet another drum app and the price is a bit more than I want to pay just for fun. Maybe if there's a sale.
I must admit to being quite surprised that you'd have three apps from the same developer, and not DrumJam.
BTW, I see you have Quantiloop Pro. An in-depth review/tutorial for that would be great.
As for the current rhythm section, this is what I have installed.
A good fine selection you have there. As for not including Drum Jam, it's not an app that fits the bill for me in that category that's all, I am a big fan of Drum Jam and Thumbjam and I will be doing my Top 5 Electronic Drum Machines too
Anyone besides me surprised the @Drum Session" didn't make the cut? ?
Does anyone know if you can trigger the drum sounds in X-Drummer via a midi controller or is it really just loop based?
I just a quick look and I think it's loop based
I would add Loop Drummer module within Amplitube. It sounds very good and it's very flexible and versatile.
Does using Drum Perfect Pro in sound module mode use less CPU? Or is there a way to tweak it to not use too much CPU in module mode?
I like drum session as well. I wish they'd release some more loops for it though. I'd be happy to pay for them
The pattern sharing feature in Drum Session has the potential to be a never ending source of new, well, patterns...! That's what finally got me to pick it up. Need to start sharing some patterns and hope it takes off.
I had a quick look at the pattern share thing but there wasn't many patterns on there. I would share some myself but if I'm going to program patterns I always do it in drum perfect pro but I love drum session cos I can just quickly pick a pattern when I have inspiration. The last song I released I actually ended up using the drum session patterns in the final mix though :-)
the player pattern function is 1% of what DrumperfectPro can do. For those who prefer to create and customize their own sample kits, 100% editable and dynamic patterns, external midi control (notes and commands), song mode, fade out, jam, etc. It requires a little more attention, but if I even learned to use it (I'm almost 50 years old), any of you can ;-)
Thing is if you're a guitar player and not a drummer that's when things get crazy hard in some drum apps.
I'm a guitar player, but the rhythm fascinates me too. ;-)
I'm a guitar player too mate and I can recommend putting the hours in on the drum perfect pro learning curve if you have the patience for it :-) you still can't beat drum session for getting the job started super quick though but the end results with dpp are very satisfying when you eventually get there
You're not alone. I really dig @DerekBuddemeyer DrumSession. Hoping for another update soon with some less complicated patterns/fills. I too am willing to pay for them as IAPs.
Excellent video Doug. It is obvious from listening to your albums that you really focus on drum sounds and rhythms. I had no idea about X-drummer until now. I love Drum Perfect Pro, but it takes more focus than I'm willing to put in. I'm still looking for the one button "Instant Ringo" app. I will probably be looking for a long time.
Rock Drum Machine is very good at sounding like a real drummer with very little effort on the part of the user, just ramp up the Jam Intensity and sit back

Fascinating rhythm....we know a song about that.
That's what I actually do with Rock, Funk, and Soft all 3.
