My first year not purchasing any Black Friday apps
Well, just like the title said, I did not and have no plans to do so. Maybe I am sick.

I’m hoping to buy a few, bought Zeeon a couple of days ago. I’ve bought about 5 apps this year, compared to about 500 the year before, so this is the first time I’ve looked at the sales and gone ‘oooh, haven’t got that one, or that one...’. I won’t be topping up with the missing 495, but Mood and Dubstation 2 are looking likely. But of course the two I really really want aren’t on sale.
I have to realize that appoholism is cooling down last days, after over 400apps, most in the category music(40synths+), i still have some wishes(dreams), nanostudio2, loopyMasterPiece,Samplr2,iOSLive,iOSReason, but this will come or not,
i can wait.
And yes maybe its my first blackfriday too, without any purchase.
I nearly went app mad early on and bought a load. But what i really wanted was DDMF EQ and compressor, so i've waited for these but they haven't gone on sale. As i've waited to see if they will my app frenzy has died down quite a bit. Writing it all down first helped me not overspend as well. When i wrote down everything i wanted i was surprised how much all it all added up to.
I think i'll probably limit myself to a handful today, and TBH as there aren't many good options for AU EQ and compression, i might still pick up what i originally wanted, at full price. I'm thinking, better two at full price that will be used a lot than a bunch of apps going cheap that i'll use hardly at all.

Last year I had just bought my Air 2. Black Friday rolled around and I was broke. I had my Air 2, but didn't really have many apps on it. It sucked bad to see all those sales go by.
Over the past year I have slowly been adding an app or two every month or so. But these past few weeks, probably starting with the MOOG sale, I have bought so many apps that I have been waiting to get for a long time. Not everything, but so many have been crossed off my wish list.
For that I am truly thankful. Now I just have to figure how to work all these apps. Hope you guys are ready for some questions!
Yeah, I tried out al the echo fx I already have, and none sounded as good as the D2 demo's. I'll grab that once I've made another pot of tea. Pleased to note one of the apps I was waiting for, Synthscaper, has now gone on sale too, though Richard gave it a lukewarm review yesterday when I mentioned it.
Only 3 apps - VC-1, Jubal Flute and Scythe (the Wavetable one).
Plus....a shed load of IAP,
Okay, It's clear that people that don't buy apps at Black Friday already have what they want. Although I'll buy some for me it's more psychological. It's the app price in euro's that went up in may this year that makes me spend less. The 0.99 app that is now 1.09 (4.99 = 5.99, etc) feels so much more. Probably the people in the UK feel the same, apps just got more expensive. Wonder if I'm the only one effected by this.
The app pricing in the UK really pissed me off. The devs deserve more money, but Apple was just being greedy and using Brexit as an excuse (I.e. the rise in many prices was higher than the changing exchange rates warranted IMO).
Apple seem to find it hard to design a decent store and upkeep it well!

I know I’m having a rare moan here and I’m not all anti Apple - I do think their customer service is very good compared to many companies. Also I’m not really a fan of Capitalism anyway, so large companies usually get little fanfare from myself
Some app prices have doubled in the UK. Coupled with a change in my finances I think it's just made me more fussy about what I buy - last year I'd buy at least one app every week, and not really care about how useful it was, as long as I got an hour of fun from it. Now they have to earn their keep, so I put a lot of research in first, and then wait for a sale.
I really would like to see Apple have some strong competition in the music app market. At the moment Apple can pretty much do as they like as they have a monopoly strictly speaking (yes their are alternatives, but nothing like for like).
I really would like to see other OS makers take the music making on tablet area more seriously
What got my goat was that the price I bought at, in good faith, had about 4 quid added in a second due to Apple’s exchange rate/ political bullshit.
But no point in any of us bothering to complain, they just don’t give a shit. At best, we’d get one of the disingenuous apologies and a full refund. Counterproductive, if we want the app in the first place,

As far as I can see windows Music making is nearly all for a large screen, android suffers from the super abundance of different hardware variations which makes it hard for developers so they don’t invest.

Nope, they have got it wrong too IMO. There are alternatives to these two extremes, but I won’t see any like what I would like in my lifetime, so hey ho lol
I’m going through the list of apps from my beer induced Black Friday buying spree from last night. Should keep me busy for the next year.
I bought my apps & iaps earlier this week so no new apps this Friday either
(I will go on app deletion spree and see if that can help me focus a bit better).

I bought just amazing noises Limiter yesterday, im still waiting to receive my payment for the last several months of working, so broke as a fiddle. I dont really need much at this point either, have soooo many apps.
Well, I'm sure it's by far the best sample synthesizer on iOS, better even than BM3 in that regard, it's just that I'm struggling to grok the UI. Once I've got my head around it I'm sure I won't be lukewarm about it.
When it first came out, for about two weeks I really got into it and (somehow) made a bunch of useful presets i really liked. Got to a point of just 'grokking it enough' I guess. Now I mostly just dive in, load a template, swap in different samples and noodle the odd parameter. Didnt have to go very deep to get way more than my monies worth.
Bought it about half an hour ago (via Doug’s YouTube link)...had a quick rummage...

I just made a simple patch with one of my own samples (after following Red Sky’s vid tutorial), which seemed to work ok. I think like you, I’ll just swap samples with existing patches for now.
Not sure how deep I’ll go into this one, but it’ll earn its keep as a layered sample player, and some of the presets are wonderful.

I wonder if someone in Europe can have someone elsewhere buy an app at the non-inflated price and then gift it back to their European buddy. It would require a lot of trust between the people involved, but seems like a lot of people are friends on this forum. Just thinking out loud here.

Bought nothing this year‘s Black Friday. No iOS apps, no plugins for my desktop computer, no hardware...
After all these years my GAS and Appoholism really cooled down. I‘ve tried and tested most of the gear and software I was interested in over the last years and I‘m absolutely satisfied with what I‘ve got.
I‘m very happy with that and I hope it stays that way
I picked up the iSymphonic Oriental Strings app. That was just too good to miss, and Animation Ultimate. Again, for a couple of bucks, great deal, fun. I picked up one more Auria plugin. I have always just bought stuff I think I could use, and I have many items purchased that I could spend an immense amount of time in that I've hardly touched. Beathawk I use as a library, one of these days I really want to try to learn how to use the engine it has to build some music.
Was hoping Procreate would go on sale, and might wait to see if they do on Monday.
The problem is the guts of Android still have latency issues, and the ability to rip off apps is just a big red flag for anyone looking at making a living on already slim margins. The iron fist of Apple is incredibly annoying, but also extremely helpful in making the current environment possible. You can also go with Microsoft Surfaces, I don't know how their hardware holds out, but certainly, there's a huge market of music apps. Unfortunately, they are at desktop prices.
