Novation ZeRO SL MkII keyless for iPad?

I can get a new Novation ZeRO SL MkII keyless for $145 CDN / $115 US.

I know it’s a bit long in the tooth. Should I get it for my iPad?

    Not all iOS apps support both absolute and relative Midi CC messages.
    Make sure the apps you'd like to control do support what you're planning to do.
    I'd personally take an old iPad with Lemur as a controller, but I know, hardware is hardware ;)

    You should get it for ipad, if you have the patience to sit down with the editor, and make templates for your apps. The Remote SL's, with the screen above the knobs, is uniquely suited for the ipad, where you probably have a lot of apps, and it would be really messy to have masking tape labels for like, 8 different apps.

    There aren't many midi controllers with LCD scribble strips above the knobs. The novation is very good. I think there is a Korg keyboard that has them too, but, that has keys.

    Have placed the order but I’m going to do some more research before deciding if I keep it.

    @rs2000 I like your idea of a very customizable iPad as a controller but I’ve never had a hardware controller before so I’m kind of curious.

    My Mk1 works fine. So a mk2 should have no issues... :)

    I've always talked myself out of repurchasing one, thinking that you loose too much of its functionality when running without desktop software.
    Can you confirm it shows as midi interface when used with iPad, so midi ports can be used? Can you create a template with multiple pages or it becomes a 1 control to 1 message per template?

    Yes. No automap, on the ipad, just static templates that you make.

    Multiple page templates possible. If I remember right, you just need to group an adjacent template in the editor. Be wise with how you divvy things up, so as to minimize the paging back and forth. Once you get the physical controls where they are set like the software, you don't want to lose that. You can just change the use of the encoders, and buttons, on the second page, if you want to keep the pots and faders on one thing.
