That sucks. It has been pretty stable for me the past couple months given the feature set I use. But yah so many options and potential workflows I get how some folks may be in crashville while others have smooth sailing.
Have you sent any crash reports to InTua? If not you should do so since it can help pinpoint the exact cause of the crashes.
So it’s been a long nightmarish road to figuring this out.
Yesterday I did a complete wipe and restore though iTunes to no avail.
I then had to do a complete swipe and manually save all my patches, DAW files from each iOS DAW app and all my AudioShare files to Dropbox and Google Drive, and then re-download each app all over again.
Then, and only then, this problem seems to have abated. I need more time to test and get to work again in BM3, but synth apps which simply didn’t work right are now back in the game, so there is a lot of hope.
@VirSyn and @mathieugarcia I would like to apologize for my attitude and approach; it just has been incredibly, extremely, horrifically frustrating to experience BM3 and Addictive Pro behaving in ways that I hardly could get anyone else to duplicate. And then on top of that for you or no one on your team to have had any suggestion or even hint of a suggestion of perhaps maybe how I might get myself out of this situation—I have had to figure this out on my own and it’s been over a month.
It turns out that this is a system wide issue that affects 2017 large screen Pros.
Please, please, if you ever get users having this bad of a time again, let them know that they may need to do a FULL swipe of their device with NO itunes restore or cloud backup and redownload their patches, files, and apps from scratch. Something about the backup or restore carries the bug along. Thank you.
Yeah pretty smooth sailing for myself. I’m steadily getting a set of apps that work well with BM3 and my iPad. Sucks when you get something not work well though - finding answers can sometimes be difficult and quite frustrating.
Remember that many of us here will help people figure out things If we can. Also the guys and gals that are on the AB forums are usually quite approachable and helpful. I’ve always find most iOS music app devs to be very helpful too!
Indeed. I’ve had a very positive experience on iOS despite its limitations and with devs until this issue. When it got so bad everyone seemed to shut down and utterly ignore me or give a platitude and few word useless unrelated answer and disappear. I know my anger and attitude didn’t help. But Christ this sucked. Music should be fun, and this wasn’t.
Yeah communication can be difficult at times regarding iOS (and any software) issues. I’ve found myself that sometimes people immediately rush to conclusions that are unhelpful at best and downright hurtful sometimes. I had an issue with an app right at the start of using iOS music making software. Later it was shown to be an actual bug, but many assumed it was my error due to many not encountering the problem. Later it got solved, but I remember some attitudes left a bad taste - I can emphasis with how you feel there. I find sometimes while help really is ‘helpful’, sometimes it’s best to walk away and try to find alternative perspectives.
Funnily, I came to iOS because I used to have so much issues with hardware problems lol
I hate the backup
@Giant_Peach Your perseverance is admirable. Glad to hear you solved your technical issues.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. I only have Addictive Micro and just got BM3 yesterday. But at least you didn’t throw your iPad against the wall!
Yesterday was the closest I came. I actually thought about it. Or had to think about restraining my arm for a split second. But then I see $1200 flash before my eyes and think of all the music I wish I could be making if it was a heap of metal and silica on the concrete.
Alas, here we are.
