What is your favorite tempo?
Mine is 90 bpm. In a weird way I feel like I’m able to create more space for my sounds at this tempo.

70 bpm. Burner.
as slow as possible.
80 BPM, I have no idea why. It just seems quite natural to me.
90 too... because that was the first one I saw in BM3 ❤️. It will always be dear to me now.
I end up in the low nineties quite a bit for some reason.
The tempo that fits the song.
I do know what you mean about creating more space there. I always felt that way too, slower the better for my mixes. Maybe partly because I like long reverb tails and they get too thick and busy when there are a lot of notes or hits.
120 actually
The last track I worked on was 20 bpm - so I guess its my current fave.
The previous piece was 800 BPM. (lots of fun)
I avoid 120 like the plague that it is...
I avoid cliches like the plague.
84
I avoid pathogens, like the plague.
Any EVEN number is fine with me because GarageBand on iOS does not support fractional tempo values yet (93.6, etc) and so while recording fast songs at half speed, it is not possible to set tempo to half of an odd-tempo like 93 which comes to 46.5.
I like Trance, Vocal Trance, EuroDance, Hi-NRG and so my favorite tempo is 120, 124, 128, 130, 132 or 134.
For other genres, between 85 and 95 BPM.
Tempo Rubato
124 - 126bpm
111.4 in 7/8
This.
One that I haven't used before
The BPM I feel like at the moment. As far as listening goes, mornings are usually 90-120 (old skool hip hop, tropical, triphop, etc). Afternoons are 126-150 (house, bass music, trance, okay mostly trance, especially during rush hour). Evenings at home are bpm-free (which is what the most relaxing ambient tracks use).
As far as what I like making, 126-142 for dance music, none for ambient music (or at the most 60bpm in Gadget, but no grid snapping nor set number of bars per pattern, nothing constrained), and 70-90 for ambient triphop.
Warp 10!
I find that ambient is best at 0 bpm. You can hear everything!
69
I have been experimenting with doing everything at 120 and in the key of D for a little while now.
Much easier to combine different audio snippets later but I might do the same at 128 in a different key for a few weeks and then change it up again.
I usually use 82, 86, 92, 130 or 140
53 (or less)
Fond of 90 and 72
88 is a great (either BPM or MPH)
Wasn’t there a phase of people trying to match BPM with various biological timings etc?

Match the Hz to BPM and go nuts
