    I didn't like Kaspar at first, but it's grown on me since. It works really well as an AU, and there still aren't nearly enough AUv3 synths for my liking. It has much more value than I think a lot of folks here would give it credit for, but it's not going to change the world or anything.

    Hopefully that helps and doesn't muddy the waters....

    This synth received a very lukewarm reception when it debuted. Has anyone cracked the nut yet and figured out what makes this synth special? Yonac seems to think it special, based on the pricing scheme, yet most people either say they don’t really like it, or are just meh whatevs about it. The opinion of this synth was not great, so I never bothered to look to closely at it. But surely there must be something about it that is awesome, no?

    Not sure if you guys saw this free bank for Kaspar that I released this past Halloween. If not you can download it here if you'd like to check it out. I made these presets as sort of an experiment because I was also somewhat underwhelmed by Kaspar at first. But something kept me interested so I spent weeks, maybe even months, trying to make him angry and / or push him into wild territory—beyond the friendly, bubbly arps.

    After making these sounds I realized that Kaspar does in fact have a wild side—it just takes a lot of encouragement for that side to reveal itself. It's definitely not LayR, but I do think it offers some useful and inspiring tools that are worth taking a look at; particularly the effects chain, the morph pad and the arpeggiator.

    Note: If you do decide to download the presets I linked above then:

    A. Be careful with your volume while switching presets!
    B. Use the mod wheel a lot as most of the presets are based around this mod source for dynamics.

    @brice You definitely revived this app for a number of folks, myself included. I think I was put off a bit on day one because I thought Kaspar sounded a bit..... thin.... that's the only way I can describe it. But I've been coming around more and more. I definitely use it more than Magellan, but not as much as Kauldron. That being said, I don't expect Kauldron to get much love now that Model D is out....
