digging deeper into Beatmaker 3 can I render in place??
I’m just now getting a chance to dig deeper into beatmaker 3. I have been using the scene modes. I want to do what Cubase calls” render in place”
Basically it just converts your midi instruments into an audio wav file. freeing up resources and making a nice stem for export or use on another track.
Does BM3 have anything like this?

Comments
No not yet. There’s a big update around the corner. Hoping it might be there. Current workflow is to record the midi output into another pad, bank or audio track. Check the help section within the app itself it should explain the steps.
No render in place but you can create an audio track, change the input to whatever instrument track you want to render, record it and play it that way. I’ve done this since BM3 doesn’t have a real-time bounce or send transport info when bouncing causing plugins like Replicant 2 not to work when bouncing.
@YZJustDatGuy when you say bm3 doesn’t allow bouncing for plugins like replicant 2 do you mean during export ? I found that too if so. Is that a bug? Or an plug issue or something else ?
Yea that’s what I mean. Idk if it’s a bug. I think it’s just how BM3 handles exports. I think the next BM3 update will change that but I have no idea how soon that’s coming.
Hmm I hope they look into that as that can completely break a track if you have to try and remember to bounce down any plugins that don’t get exported, before exporting.
Could it be related to some of the issues in this thread?

So far that’s the only plugin that I’ve used that doesn’t export in BM3
There’s another plug made by the same developer that does the same. I can’t remember which. Maybe it’s a problem with his plugins.
It has come up and the dev said that there was something missing in BM3 (some AU time sync code thing blah blah) that did not allow it to work. All relevant parties (the dev and Intua) know the who/what/why.
But for regular synths and fx, yah you can just export most things and drop them onto a bank or audio track and record. Hopefuly a genuine freeze option that disables the plugins to free up CPU is in the roadmap for one day.
It could be plugins that require host transport info. Replicant and Axon need to “play” in order to function, whereas something like Dubstation just processes the incoming audio. I vaguely remember reading something like this when those 2 AD plugins came out and no one could get them to render out correctly.
Ah good info. Ok
Replicant 2 still doesn’t work well as an AU in Auria but that’s a fault of Auria’s
I hope it will be something like this.... 3:25 mark...
