    Stutter is a good tool for midi mapping effects to a controller. All you have to do is hold down the key (trigger) you want to apply the changes to, make the mod changes, and release the key. Now every time that key is pressed your mod movement is automated. The presets are totally over the top and dated sounding so just ignore them and build up from a blank.

    Anyone know how this compares to Replicant 2 (six bucks) ?

    You can always demo it, and Replicant is subtle compared to what stutter does. I think replicant is more “musical” or useful.
