HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That's about it...and I didn't have to come up with it myself
🤡 Am i a clown? Do i amuse you? Really? Well, gosh golly! Thanks! 😄
But seriously, i kid Korg ‘cause i care. They know what we want! Looking forward to these, maybe get one used down the line.
I was very excited this morning when I checked my YouTube feed to learn that these were both real products! I have 6 of 7 Volcas currently - I ended up selling the Beats because it had that awful snare, and thought it would go unused in lieu of the Sample or iOS drum options.
So I'm really interested in the Volca Drum. Modular does not really interest me, but that is undeniably the star of the show here. The demo sounded amazing, and I could see wanting to check that out and learn more about modular down the road.
Can these be mounted in a moog mother32 style rack together?
Does that exist?
That would be enticing.
Edit: ah I guess something like this. Those two new guys would look great in here.

Looks like I’ll be adding another Volca or two to my collection. Keener on the drums, some great tones came out of that. Modulars don’t really float my boat, or haven’t in the past, but I wouldn’t mind giving it a go for more random ambient music experimentation.
I like these, but I'd have to have all of them (ain't gonna happen).
Gonna have that modular
I have 4 (keys, beats, bass and kick) and yes, it's tough not getting the others. But, I WILL have the modular some day.
I’m selling expansion systems for the Korg Volca Modular. Can’t say exactly what it does. But it will circuit bend anything within 3 feet of it! 😛
I like this new modular thing, and the sampler. Probably the synth one too...it's a lot of money for the whole collection though, and I wonder what extra it does compared to say...an iPad ensemble of Spacecraft, Ruismaker Noir, Aparillo etc. And that modular with the tiny, tiny wires...that go in the tiny, tiny sockets...divided up again into three tiny segments....my eyes...my eyes...my big clumsy banana fingers!
Looks to be no MIDI IN on the modular
That DRUM tho. I will probably cop that at some point. so sick!
@AndyPlankton CV/gate in only it seems
Sadly, I'm not impressed, I wanted to, tho ... I feel that it miss the brain of Tatsuya Takahasi in it.
Just my 2 cents !
Funny. I feel that Tats' brain is there but they're both missing soul.
Not sure if someone already posted this but according to CDM http://cdm.link/2019/01/korg-volca-modular-volca-drum/:
Drum
Price: US$149.99
Availability: early 2019
Modular
Price: US$199.99
Availability: early 2019
Funny, I can't tell brain or soul from the videos, just want it.
Tatsuya Takahashi did step down from his position of Chief Engineer at Korg, but the same announcement also mentioned that he would remain in an advisory role with Korg.
His involvement or lack thereof will not stop peeps from buying these new Volcas. I bet he trained kohai to take over his former role(s) at Korg. Or Korg found more geniuses like Tats to hire. Or maybe both.
I like Cuckoo's videos but he ignored my advice to tweak his video format to be more like Loopop's and Jacob Haq's - provide some links in the video description so users can fast forward to specific features, instead of make viewers sit through the whole thing.

And by "best" I meant quickest and easiest. I'm thinking USB mixer?

I'm surprised Korg hasn't come up with a way at this point. I guess they were thinking these are more for live performance.
Yeah, you said it better, missing soul.
The modular one looks b@d@$$. Would love to get my hands on one of those - might be my next HW purchase....
How much soul were you hoping to get for $150 to $200?
I actually find these things kind of inspiring-sounding. I'm thinking: OK, I have a Digitakt and Ableton and, er, 90 percent of all iOS synths and 100 percent of iOS drum apps.
Which Volca does something that those things can't?
I think either of these two or maybe the FM.
these new volca cases are cool.
and the reference cards are nice as well

The cards would be very useful I would think. Great.
I said that compared to the earlier Volcas. They are $150-$200 and full of soul.
I think Ruismaker Noir has more soul and it is just an iPad App ...
Cheers,
Not trying to be combative or argumentative but, what do you mean by soul here? What is lacking that would equate to a soullessness in the new Volcas?
Yeah, such a bummer imo!
