  • @sonosaurus Sounds like these next two releases will be just for me! :-)

...I'm sure others have been wanting this too of course! ;-)

when I overhaul the instrument creation UI.

looking forward to this too, even if it is a few updates away for Thumbjam.

    Speaking of updates...

  • +1 for Thumbjam!

  • I guess i should take another look at this app. I owned it in its very early stages and don't remember it being very intuitive or having amazing sounds. I've heard nothing but praise for the last several months so i'm very keen on checking it out again.

I super duper love Thumbjam as well and am using it on a couple of records I am releasing this year. I have the same issue a few others stated here where I get glitches in the audio if the X axis is used for volume control. Note that I also have the Pitch in Glide mode. Sometimes at lower X-axis volume presses or slides, the audio glitches in out out at really loud or soft volumes. I've tried everything possible I could think of like different buffer settings, different volume variations settings, deleting and reinstalling the app, and other things. Sometimes it is perfectly fine, but usually this is an issue. I use the cello or other strings the most. This APP is SO good and SO expressive that not being able to solve this issue is reaaaally painful haha. Some of my best takes and phrases have been ruined by these anomalies. I just deleted and reinstalled the app v 2.5.2 on my ipad 4 but no luck...

@sonosaurus did you happen to find a solution for the others that have this issue. The app is SOOO GOOD! Can you possible please help out a fan and professional musician? :-D Great stuff!

  • This app resides permanently on my iPhone 6s. Top Ten app!

So, I need more details on the exact patch you were using and what control settings you have set up for it (in Edit->Controls). Perhaps it only happens with a certain combination of settings and I can track it down that way....

  • I'm a big ThumbJam fan too  I just left a 5 star review on the UK app store.

Just wondering if there will be a AB3 update?

I'm thinking about using iOS for my next project instead of mac/Logic and thinking that it would be nice to use ThumbJam and full AB3 would surely make the process easier and more fun!

  • Just reporting that @mckayallday 's issue was solved, it turns out that the Tremolo setting (on finger) conflicts with x-axis volume, so until I fix that be sure not to have them both enabled.

And yes, there will be an update supporting AB3, no promises on a schedule, though!

Thank you for sorting this out so quickly! Now I can be extra productive today with this fine app...

    Ditto!
Been on the record many times, over the years, that ThumbJam is among my favourite musicking apps on any platform. Before converting to this compulsive app-buying cult fine group, TJ was my “all you need” app. AB3 optimization would really help my workflow, after my brief stint as an appaholic.

  • This may be a daft idea - but could I have ThumbJam running on my iPhone as a controller sending midi to ThumbJam (and/or other apps Iike cubasis or gadget) on my iPad?

Sure, you can do it with the MIDI Network Session over wifi or with better performance if you have an iConnect Midi product, or even with MIDI over Bluetooth.

Brilliant  I'll have to have an experiment and see if I can can something to work well enough for me to use live.... I am currently running mainly ThumbJam and Group The Loop, connected via CCK to my guitar and MIDI pedal (via Line6 Helix) - and use the guitar to play ThumbJam via MIDI Guitar 2 app and then looping in GTL (as well as being able to directly loop Guitar or vocals) - but it would be awesome if I could just grab my iPhone and use that as a controller - ThumbJam's control surface is so great for things like the Theremin or the Tanpura.

  • Oh yeah - and I just found the input quantise function last night (in the arpeggiator menu) - its great to be able to play drums and percussion bang on in time via MIDI Guitar  Thumbs up for ThumbJam... the more I use it the more I like it.

  • @sonosaurus sir
it seems that in latest update
the audio2midi function doesnt work when Thumbjam started in Audiobus or AUM...
any chance for a fix !? thank you.
