Best way to save your work, as you go in Auria Pro?

I was just wondering what the best way to save my work, preferably using the least amount of memory, in Auria Pro, to prevent a loss in case of a crash? So far, I’ve been using both the save copy, and save snapshot. Out of those two, or better yet, any other options, what is the best way to save my work as I go? Thank you for any and all replies.

Those you mentioned are the best available options for a quick save. In addition, you can use Save to Dropbox that does not use the iPad storage, but it’s a slower method since the project has to be uploaded to the cloud.

Dropbox caches on the device, so ymmv on local storage saving.

What do you mean by “Dropbox crashes on the device”? It’s working perfect for me since I can remember. Any particular issue with your device?

  • Thank you very much for your replies, I appreciate it. I’m totally green, and still have little idea of what I’m doing.

@rodolfo: I think he meant that dropbox may cache the file locally and use up a lot of space.

Sorry, I read “crashes”... I guess I need new glasses...

  • I’m doing my best to avoid having to pay the $10/month, but I have the feeling I’m gonna end up caving in to the convenience of having it. I do as much as I can with AudioShare, but Dropbox is integrated into Auria Pro, and the makes it a temptation I probably will succumb to.

Backing up your projects into AudioShare can also be done. I save copies to my Mac via AirDrop from AP

Not crashes, caches. Dropbox does’t retrieve files from the cloud each and every time you access them. It keeps local copies of some of the content on the device for more rapid retrieval. Take a look at the amount of storage Dropbox takes on your device - 535Mb here. Sure it’s not my full 2Gb of Dropbox space, but it ain’t trivial either. Those recently saved projects are likely to be in local storage as well as the cloud, at least for some period of time.

Of course, maybe that cache space may have a maximum, in which case other things will be shuffled out. I don’t know. That’s why I said your mileage may vary.

Thank you very much for the reply, do you know if there is a storage limit to the free version of AudioShare, and if so, do you happen to know off hand what it is?

Sorry, as I mentioned in a previous comment, I read “crashes” instead of caches. My bad.
