the mysteries of AUM and Module
I'll be the first to admit that my brain does not fully grasp how to use AUM, although I'm making progress. The latest mystery has to do with using Korg Module and Keystage. So, I've created a virtual midi port in Keystage which will provide a path for routing AUM into Keystage. Problem is that the AUM menu for selecting the midi source is missing for Module (unlike for example, iFrettlessBass in the picture). Why is this? Is this another quirk of getting Korg to work outside it's home environment, or is there something within Module I can set that that a Midi source menu is visible in AUM?

Module listens to all connected MIDI devices, the only way you have to filter messages is by using its MIDI channel setting. I can send screenshots later if that helps.

Maybe I confused things by putting iFrettless bass into the mix. I only put it there to show that the midi source menu is present for that app, but not for Module. What I'm trying to do is to run Module through an effect (Tonestack) and then into Keystage.
I just realized I mistook Keystage for a device (Keystep, I guess?), please disregard my comment and follow cuscolima's screenshot.
The picture shows you how to route MIDI into Module. To add an effect, you insert it in the slot below Module.
Maybe we don't understand what it is you aren't sure about doing. The routing dialog lets you set up all your MIDI routings. You can set what sends MIDI to module and what sends MIDI to Keystage.
Sounds like the OP is used to route midi by using the hamburger menu next to the app's icon, and not by using the routing matrix in AUM. Why that menu is missing for Module I can't remember. Is it an IAA thing?
Yes, bleep, that's correct and my question is why is hamburger menu missing. I understand how to insert an effect in the chain.
It happens for IAA Generators. IAA instruments get the hamburger.
Module is a generator(IAA) so no "hamburger" menu you have to use the routing matrix instead. All IAA generators work this way.
That makes sense. Got it figured out- it was more an issue of getting settings correct in keystage than AUM. Actually didn't need to set up midi routing at all
What is the difference between instrument and generator(IAA)?
IAA Generator only outputs audio while IAA Instruments can output midi too, both can react to incoming midi.
For example in Cubsis IAA Generators can only be added to audio tracks while IAA Instruments can be added to midi tracks.
