Beathawk: Loading Kits?

Is there any way to load entire kits when in pad mode?
Feels like Im missing something; I can load them but only in pitch mode.

The process is the same. Tap the word Browser. That takes you to the instrument browser. When you load in instrument (such as a kit), it will load the kit/instrument into the selected pad in the browser.

Yes i get that but it only loads one pad at a time. Its not filling all pads with the entire kit at once such as when doing it in pitch mode.

  • Kits only work in pitch mode

Nope, only in pitch mode , but may I ask why you want a whole kit in pad mode ?

To play it via the pads? You know, like an MPC? This has been bugging me for quite a while as well.

For me, to quickly load a drum kit to the pads, rather than the keys.
I think you have to load each sample to each pad, one at a time.

So yeah, I have been loading my drum kits to the keys.
But the pads are easier to play with drums

I misunderstood what you are trying to do. A kit is a multisample instrument. So, if you load one, it gets loaded into a single pad by design -- and that pads samples can be triggered by BeatHawk's internal keyboard or an external keyboard.

If you want to have each pad be assigned to one sample, you just load each sample into the corresponding pad and save that setup.

So this scenario has to be saved as a Project, rather than a Kit, correct?

    Yes.

For the reasons said above. Im sure Im one of many that just expected this. The keys work great but if the user has been around beat making a while they may rather use the pad set up and not have to load each sample one at a time.

One trick you can do is use one of the keyboard/drum pad AUs/apps to play BeatHawk's kits from pads rather than BH's keyboard. Using something like Velocity Keyboard has the added benefit of velocity sensing.

    Excellent idea.
I eagerly await your template! :)
