Strange App Store update problem

  • When that happens I usually just tap on the circles to stop download and then tap update again...

One thing I noticed about updates on my iPhone 8(iOS13) is that the downloads for updates are a lot smaller :)
At least when compared to the same apps on my iPad Air 2 that is still on iOS12.4.1...
(I'll update it to iPadOS13.1 once it drops this coming tuesday evening).

  • Force Quit(ie. swipe off the screen) the AppStore app can sometimes help too...

  • You should definitely hurry up with your Steuererklaerung, I doubt the Finanzamt accepts "App didn't work, will update to iOS 13.1 ASAP" as an excuse (do they even know what an app is :D)

  • I’ve been having issues with updating apps on Apple TV. No idea what’s going on.

Only app for me that isn't update properly is Asphalt 8 and Gameloft messed up this time...
(This is not the first time it happens, usually happens when parts of the development team rotate within the company).

In fact this is one of the apps I have issues with. The other one is MUBI. Cheers Samu, I’ll just wait and see then. No big deal.

  • I have apps that have been updated but still say they need an update. Same apps since June.

  • Sign out of only iTunes and App Store, restart, and then sign back in. It’s not going to affect anything. Also, check your date & time and time zone.

It is so annoying they removed the Wishlist and Apps Not On This iPad filter for AppStore app that would let me know what I bought but deleted so I could redownload them. There was another option to hide apps in the AppStore app. These are some of the dumbest removals by Apple. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows these are ESSENTIAL features in the app. How am I supposed to know what I purchased years ago but deleted some due to space issues and now don’t remember how many or which ones so I could redownload them? Are these features added back in iOS 13?

This "purchased but not on this device" feature is still there!

This is the feature they removed - Where do you see it in iOS 12?

That’s an old version of AppStore app or iOS/iPadOS 13. In iOS 12, there is no Account option or Purchased tab.

Believe what you want, but my iPad is on 12.4.1 and it’s been like this all the way through iOS 12 and I think 11 as well. The steps in the article I posted get you there. I checked the beta on iOS 13 as well and it’s almost but not quite the same there as well.

  • @MobileMusic I can confirm it is still there as a tab in the Purchased section of your account info. I’m on 12.4.1. I use it all the time to manage apps between devices.

Agree with you completely about the wishlist though. I was shocked when they removed it, it just seemed so illogical. My guess was that they didn’t want people just waiting for sale prices but the result for me was definitely just less app purchases, period.
