wise decision my friend, real gangstas apologize.... you didn't want none of that
seriously though, check out madlibs catalog, I see him at the Santa Monica promenade all the time out there with his iPad just doin his thang
Only it should be much more than a sampler app because the developer’s description says:
“BeatMaker brings unmatched efficiency and depth in an intuitive audio and MIDI workstation. Look no further, the power of traditional desktop software and real hardware is now united into one single production studio.”
Key words: audio and MIDI workstation - and in this role BM3 performance is really poor.

Anybody with BM3 and my plugins can verify.
No more excuses @vow. Let’s hear some music.
I don't believe this is serious music though as something tells me you may have cracked a grin while making it.
the way I always read this was that they were trying to convey the message that if the reason you went to the iOS platform in the first place was because you wanted to get away from your desktop setup and then you missed your desktop setup that they had your back, cause BM3 feels like your desktop setup so it's like intua put a desktop in your iPad!
I made that one weekend sitting in a coffee shop. I did get looks and lots of questions about the software. Walking people through the product and putting the headphones on their head was the best part. People can't believe you can crank out music on an ipad
This is really an ingenious way of using those apps. Unfortunately I was trying to use other synths. Maybe that’s why I got all bogged up in glitches. I have none of those synths you used and believe me I’ve got quite a few.
I have had a couple chats / 'hear and tells' on the train with some stunned wide eyed headshaking responses. I carry a headphone splitter now as it is just too much fun.
By the way, I am so bloody tempted to buy iSEM and Phosphor now, lol. Weird that the BASSalicious bank doesn't load though as I do own it.
Thanks for sharing this!
Yep, was messing with it today.. Ableton Linked to a second iPad.. Start Stop is really, really where it’s at.. was running AB with Blocs Wave on the second iPad.. Blocs need to step up their game.. more BM3 sampling action or, Serato Sample for iOS... Let’s see what Roland brings to the table..
Yah getting to know the AUs, what works well and what doesn't, is a big part of it. Sure they are relatively cheap but some time does need to be invested and some just won't float unfortunately. A minefield at times. I think you tried Sunrizer and I had to scratch that one off my list due to problems.
Ones that work for me which I often use...
Zeeon
Synthmaster One
Factory
Aparillo
DRC
Kauldron
This is the part right here where you continually bury yourself...
You have no idea if its performance is really poor or not. Show me a real world example of why that is. You're just making stuff up. I showed you that its just fine. And my tune was done on an old version
This should be a lesson to not just @vov, but people that say stuff isn't serious or whatever.
None of that matters.
Its just about making music with whatever you have in front of you. And the result doesn't even matter. Just go out there and use the software. Have fun with it. Explore. Learn. The results are whatever they are. Its about expression, not about serious or professional or whatever. I can tell you, the most talented people that are making whatever professional music people want to say is professional can use anything and use it to its full potential because they are just good at it. That's called talent and effort.
@vov, your constant negativity about what's wrong about stuff is not helping you. There is plenty right with the iOS music scene. This entire site is dedicated to it. It doesn't matter if people are amazing or they suck at it. Its a community of people that are enjoying it and are using the same hardware...ios devices. So we all have the same building blocks. You need to accept that you can get better at your craft without being negative about the hardware because people are in fact cranking out good stuff. I love listening to other people music because it shows me this dude is cranking out amazing stuff, and I have the exact same tools in my hands right now...I better get busy.
Reach out and be vulnerable. There have been so many people try to help you. You can make that iPad Pro do amazing things if you'd let it.
BUT If you really are just trolling, you'll just keep the BS going. And I guess that's ok if that's what you're after. And if thats the case...you're losing credibility with every post you make.
Yeah, this tune has got:
--Synths
Bassalicious 1
Zeeon
Kauldron
Kaspar
Poison-202
Phosphor 2
iSEM
Borderlands (that thing is the bees knees to sample)
CMP Grandpiano
iSymphonic
--Insert Effects
Shaper
NoLimits
Soundfruuze (which i'm running Borderlands through, i think...I sampled the output of my mic in starbucks to make the background noise in the last section before the strings came in)
--Audio tracks from Soundfruuze "coffee shop" sample
Eos 2
Dubstation 2
Replicant 2
Cool cool. This is awesome! I do love Borderlands too and was just using it for chimes this morning which I then loaded into Djay for scratching then dropped it into Egoist for quick cutting and shuffling. So many work, err playflows.
You should post this session to the BM3 forum!
done!
Very nice!
@vov: Why don’t you post some question no about apps you are having trouble with. It is possible that we can help you out. @drez piece is great but (and he has) he could create a great sounding piece with other apps as well. It might be that we can help you get better results with the apps you have if you will tell us about the apps you have.
You might even post a request for people to point you to tracks they have created with the synths that you have...perhaps some of them will inspire you.
I think you have mentioned having NS2, @drez has created nice tracks with that as well.
I’m negative only about stuff that doesn’t work or people lying.
I never trolled and I tried many many synths inside BM3 before I came to my conclusion.
There’s no need to be so conceited just because you were able to make a really nice piece of music.
I really like what you achieved and the methods you used.
I hope I’ll learn from it, but for now as I said I cannot even check your project out.
Looking at the BM3 session it is for the most part, you know, BM3 stuff. The magic is in the fingers/brain of drez. I mean, holy crap you should hear his finger drumming!
Hi vov!
Good to see you doing your old trick of quoting some gushing advertising text to prove your point. Advertisers talk about their product in a positive way, you say their product is not perfect, therefore they are liers. Bingo - case proven.
Did you ever get a refund from Apple because they "lied" to you about how the iPad could do everything a laptop could do?
That’s lovely, really nice.
You’re factually correct, but the quantity of imperfection (as you called it) on iOS is recently much higher than what I’ve experienced on other platforms. And a few years back it was the other way around. That’s why I’m upset.
Dam.i asked a simple question and the thread has become something else 🤣🤣
Fair enough. We all have opinions.
Did you get your refund for the iPad?
No, Apple don’t handle those issues themselves here as far as I was told. I still hope something will work on iOS.
I do like the touch interface just as the next guy.
Playing with miRack now. Quite fun, but no multi channel out. iOS is like some lego world, where everything looks like the real thing but isn’t quite the same.
Mobile is mobile and desktop is desktop and hardware is hardware. They all have their pluses and minuses. All good fun.
You haven’t proven to anyone here that stuff doesn’t work. Show us video or anything that shows it.
Since you claim stuff doesn’t work but don’t prove it, it is more that you are lying. Making stuff up with nothing to back it up.
Show us what you are talking about. We are all using the same iOS devices you are. Show us with examples, project files, videos, etc.
Otherwise , the music from everyone here is speaking for itself.
@vov were you on here with another name before getting banned and would always trash bm3 for lack of phone support and how ns2 was going to save the day with support on day one? They would always say you couldn’t make real music in bm3. Wonder how he’s holding up.
@drez you are killing it. There must be an apology coming your way in 3...2...1...
I will install BM3 again tomorrow and give it a try. It used to crash or bugs would show up within 15 mins..
Very tasty indeed!
