Ios Daws with individual track lengths?
Any daws that allow individual track lengths?
Similar to what Gadget does. Also option for free length recording as opposed to predetermined would be a plus.
Really wish Cubasis did this.
-thx

I don’t understand what you mean by this. Do you mean individual loop lengths per track or something?
Cubasis, and most other linear DAWs allow free length recording and tracks can be any length you want. I must be misunderstanding what you mean.
Zenbeats is the most similar to Gadget, and it does allow free length recording and tracks of any length.
GarageBand does what you’re looking for if I understand your question correctly.
Yes individual loop lengths per track.
Yes Cubasis does allow free length, but once that is set for a single track, its also set for all other tracks, which i dont want.
i guess @hibjshop is talking about "session" view (gadget, session view in BM3, modstep - things derived from Ableton Live session view)
in linear sequencer, you can achieve a sort of this too, it's just not that straigtforward
look image bellow... here is 6 bars long song loop
in case you don't want loop paterns but play just once per song loop, you simoly shorten looped area:
in this example, second track
loops pattern just twice and third track plays it just once durimg song loop... first one is still looping
In case that i understand totally wrong what you are asking for, then sorry :-)
Thanks for your effort and suggestions👍🏼
Yeah im def looking for an ableton-ish type of recording/looping option.
ok, then Gadget, BM3, Zen Beats (former Stagelight) and Modstep . Modstep doesn't have audio, just midi
Oh, also Garageband i think...
Ahh, thanks for the explanation @hibjshop. Zenbeats sounds like the closest match. But I would also add a mention of Xequence 2. It has a really nice feature where you can set a pattern to "Loop". That makes it repeat infinitely along the timeline until another pattern is encountered. So, you can easily set something to looping. Then just stick another pattern in the timeline where you no longer want that one to loop. You can place an empty pattern (with one click), if you just want it to stop.
Warning - it's a MIDI sequencer only (but a very good one!) so you have to connect it up to other apps like Audiobus or AUM to actually make any sound.
I recommend checking out Zenbeats. It's free to try, with enough basic features to give you the idea of the workflow. Also GarageBand. Nothing to lose there either, since it's free.
@hibjshop if you decide to give Xequence a go, you can also crop and/or time stretch MIDI patterns (even looped ones), both from the left or right side, which gives you quite interesting hands-on variation possibilities.
But as @wim has mentioned, Xequence is MIDI - only.
Look up the Ampify apps. They are designed similar to Ableton workflow and are free (with some advanced unlocks)
Groove box is similar to Gadget with the ability to create melodies, change bars/loop track length.
Blocs Wave works with loops at different lengths.
And Launchpad gives you the ability to use your Blocs Wave loops live.
Best part, you can export to Ableton directly and even use Ableton Link.
