Nice! It occurs to me that something similar could be done with Egoist too...
I don't know Egoist. I forgot to mention in the video (for anyone that doesn't know) that Sector is a probabilistic slice sequencer. Pretty much every aspect let's you set up multiple options with assigned probability (slice order, warping) so that you can create sequences that keep the same character without exactly repeating. Of course, you can also create things that are chaotic, too.
The results can be so much deeper than I realized.
I’ll pay for this in AU ‘again’.. sweet, x2-3 will be even sweeter..

In Part 2, should I explain what an envelope follower (in this case FAC Envolver) is or is it enough to just show where it sits in the flow?
Personally, know what it is and does but it might be beneficial to sketch a rough outline. If it’s not too much trouble, that is. Either way, your work is much appreciated.

Sector is an amazing app. It does play nicely with AUM. I tend to record its output for a few minutes and clip out the best bits...as I generally make use of its probabilistic features.

Bought it and it looks very good, but I definitely need to come back to it tomorrow when I’m less tired. I initially tried to load it in AUM in an effect slot, which was obviously wrong. Looks good to take a basic sample and mangle it, though, and I’ll use @4pockets new app - MTR - to then take the best bits. Looking forward to some weekend fun 😁
Sector is an IAA instrument. So it goes in an instrument slot at the top of an AUM channel. And Sector uses samples as its inputs.
There are some tutorials that walk you through using Sector.
Yeah, I’ve sussed it now, thanks. I had a go in standalone mode and then realised in AUM it needs to go on the instrument slot. Got tons of samples to give it a whirl with, so just need some sleep and a fresh mind to have a proper go at it. I read the manual so now I just have to get in a bit of practice. I’ll tell you what, though, I’d very happily pay the same again if this was upgraded to AU.
