AUDIOBUS is a monster!
I keep hearing folks talking how they do everything with AUM and other ‘connector’ apps but every time I try anything else I go back to the golden standard that Audiobus is.
Just now I’ve dropped Gadget into the input and Drambo into the effect slot. Pressed play in Audiobus, all in sync. Going back and forth between apps is a breeze with the sidebar. It is quick and efficient.
I know this is a known fact on this forum but maybe it isn’t? Since membership here has grown massively in the last couple of years maybe it is worth reminding how amazing this piece of software is?
I don’t know whether I’d still be using iPad for music if Audiobus wasn’t here. Who knows if I’d be doing this if Audiobus wasn’t the first proper connecting board at that particular time a while back?

Agreed, Audiobus is like a reliable family member in iOS music making terms. Maybe taken for granted a little, but would sure be missed if it wasn’t here.... and like you say, where would we be without it?

@supadom @Michael Totally agree with you, we should all show it more love. It was the original and still the best. I remember the first day Audiobus hit the App Store what a revelation. It turned the music app world upside down.
I managed to grab it 30 mins before getting on a plane was sweating it would not be in store on time for my flight !

Agree totally. I’m sure AUM is amazing too. Love that Dev so no shade just never needed it because AB3 is everything I need + some. Also baked in Bm3 “natively” works like a dream.
I use all of them. Audiobus, AUM and Apematrix. Can't say which is better.
I can’t be the only person to read the original post and immediately search the App Store for Drambo
I don't really participate in "year's best apps" threads because I like so many apps that are released in a year (or use old ones) that it seems unhelpfully subjective. But the updates to AudioBus in 2019 have brought me more value than any other. I can do exactly what I've dreamed about for my live set and it's easy and fast to configure a set and then play through it without staring at a glowing screen. Big thanks to @Michael for all the hard work!

Agreed, AB is entirely reliable for me when it comes to sync start/stop across all apps. Not so with AUM. The AB slide-out panel is excellent as well.

The OP must be betatesting it then. Lucky s.o.b. 
Audiobus was the revelation we all needed back in 2011/2012. Before that, most music apps were basically standalone toys (save for Music Studio, NS1, and FLM 1 and 2 (which were built on the Music Studio engine)).
It took me years to realize what @Michael has known all along. The multiple overlapping and resizable windows paradigm from desktops just doesn’t translate well to the smaller screens of iOS devices.
I know many (most?) get along with AUM and Ape Matrix naturally - I just don’t. I lose my mind window-diving, resizing things the way I want them, moving them out of the way because they cover the metronome, etc.
Coming from the desktop world, I just assumed the window model had to be the right way. So when AUM came along, I thought “finally!”. But the more I’ve done things, the more I keep returning to the AB one-window, always in the same place, any app reached by a touch or two from any other, transport always available, wonderful ness.
I love AUM and Ape Matrix, but I just don’t work well with the window model. Of course, there are key things missing from Audiobus that only working with the others can solve. So, they become my essential left hand along with Audiobus on the right.
All that said, seeing two things on the screen at the same time can be sooo helpful. I love when spilt screen works, such as with Audiobus and Koala. I would love it if Audiobus evolved some elegant way to see at least two apps on screen in a non-overlapping layout.
Sorry for the long post. It’s just nice when you learn everything you thought you knew was wrong, but it ends up being a happy result.
I’m interested to learn why you use AudioShare for recording when AUM has it built in. I’m always looking for different ways of looking at things.
Using apps might make the developer smile but buying apps helps them eat.
I own all the best apps so when I want to show @Michael some respect I buy one more of his apps:
AudioBus Remote = CHECK
Loopy HD = CHECK
SampleBot = CHECK

Ahh, what you’ve described as AudioShare recording is actually AUM’s recording mechanism. The files end up in AudioShare, but it’s AUM’s recording that you’re using.
AudioShare has it’s own recording function that you can use without AUM. I thought that’s what you were saying you were using.
Just a matter of two people describing the same thing in different ways then.

U know we talking about AUM and it’s most powerful ability to me is creating perfect loops and storing them to AudioShare without any need for an external app. You can do it by using loopy or GTL in Audiobus but it would be awesome if it was built in. Any chance that might happen? Just a thought! Audiobus does rock like a monkey on crack even without it though!
Yes, recording ability would be very convenient to have onboard. I personally don’t think Audiobus should try to have feature parity with AUM, but this little convenience would be handy.
Loopy HD is perfect for creating perfect loops. Then sharing them to files app is a breeze.
