Korg Taipei

Guys, can I use Taipei to drive other ios synths ? Is it possible then to save everything in one project or would I have to load everything manually, select preset in that synth etc.
Thanks

  • Yes, you can definitely drive other synths from Taipei. There will always be some level of setup needed though. How much depends on the apps you use.

    • If you’re driving IAA/standalone synths, then you will have to Load the apps and select the preset every time.
    • If you’re driving AU synths, then you will need to set them up in a host like Audiobus or AUM. AB or AUM can save a session that will automatically load all the AU apps up in the state they were in when you saved the session. So, all you should need to do is load that AB or AUM session and Gadget to get back to work.
    • Some IAA apps have Audiobus State Saving. This is like AU state saving, but only works for apps that support it, and only in Audiobus. The apps list whether they support state saving in the list that you select them from in Audiobus.

I prefer Audiobus for this, but possibly more many prefer AUM. Either way, I always name the Session the same as the gadget project. I avoid using IAA versions of apps wherever possible. This keeps the work down. But there is always some setup work needed, no matter what you do.
