    Hi Mate,
the only thing I know is that I remember reading somewhere that he had stopped creating music apps and that there would be no more maintenance of his apps, like, say, AUv3 support. Nothing more than this.

  • Too bad, Crystalline is a very good shimmer (which I love)...

  • Almost like a death in the family when these chaps bugger off....:(

  • iOS nostalgia...

  • I know that Chris moved house and also sold off a lot of his hardware gear. He also cut his long hair (dreads) off. He is leading another life right now. I wouldn't hold my breath for app updates. On the other hand he appears to be doing good in life in general (I literally checked up on him a year or so ago and we have each other on Facebook), and I wish him all the best, he's a great guy with the heart in the right place.

Good to hear he’s doing well. Chris is a nice guy and gave us some great apps.

    Seconded.

  • I like how in our little world, there can be a 1<->1 connection with the devs.

  • Thirded. Holderness Media received honorable mention in the BTE "Synthmaster Love" vid, and that was a very high bar.

    +1 for Crystalline

  • Thanks for reminding me...

  • Damn. Those were superstar apps when I first started making iOS music : Shimmer, Johnny, Echo Pad, Stereo Designer...and they still stand today (Echo Pad is a real secret weapon with lots under the hood)
I am glad to hear that the developer Chris is happy and healthy.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful tools!

He grew up and left childish things behind.

  • In my case only the Holderness Bundle completed Bias as a guitar rig. :+:
EchoPad has a lot of tweakability under the hood, Caramel is the most nasty distortion with a cool appeal, classics...

Good call. I think we need a 'sample' movie meat suggestion thread.....

  • I don’t have them, as I join iOS music making only this year. Are they still wort it?

If AU is not mandatory for you, yes, they worth absolutely.

    Still unsurpassed in my opinion.

I am very glum that it will never be AU etc.

  • Seriously. Some of my personal favorite effects!!!

  • I emailed Chris last month about AU but no reply. Caramel is the best ...on iOS

  • Thanks to this discussion, I rediscovered these effects. Tonight I spent a couple of hours with them and just a drum loop. Thanks @RUST( i )K it was like finding old friends again.

And this is why peeps, it’s wise to mix it up.. I have hardware that is 30 years old I can intergrate with a modern set up and it works great. I have apps less than 5 years old that won’t integrate.

  • Bought the bundle. They sound really AMAZING. So bad they will not be ported AUv3.
    Some really good oldies.

Just to know, how much costs the bundle now? I cannot see that because I already have them all.

  • The generally accepted natural death of a U.S. citizen? :D
