Need some help in getting 61 key controller for ipad

Hi guys, I would like to use my ipad as a midi module and I'm looking for opinions about midi keyboards.
Ideally, I would like a keyboard which has some kind of ipad rest / slot, like Samson Carbon 61.
And it has to be 61 keys.

Maybe there are other ways of doing it - I just wouldn't like my ipad to lay on the side of the keyboard - I would like it to be in front of me - something like a big lcd in the workstation keyboards.

Is Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter the best option for usb midi connectivity ? Is it safe to say that most midi keyboards will work with it?

Or would you rather recommend a dedicated midi interface, like the korg's plugkey ?

I'm still struggling to understand if that lightning slot is to only provide power to ipad or will it also add some juice to the attached device - midi keyboard in my case.

    Personally, I wouldn't want to limit my options just to get something that can support the iPad. It's too easy to come up with a different stand solution. I use a custom setup with some RAM mount hardware and mic stands so that my iPad location is very flexible.

    Anything that is class-compliant USB works fine. The CCK3 kit is nice because you get USB host as well as the charging port so you can charge your iPad and also provide power for the accessory devices to reduce the need for a powered USB hub.
