Good keyboard app.

I’m currently looking for a keyboard app to write MIDI note to piano rolls of Ableton Live with iPAD.
I really like having direct access to Ableton Live parameters with Astropad. This is fun. What's especially nice is that it doesn't require tedious configuration. Just launching same softwares on both Mac and iPAD, the functionality to be quickly connected via Wi-fi is very nice. I immediately let go of Push.
And I'm looking for a MIDI keyboard app that can be used just as quickly. I don't like piano keys, and I prefer a unique design like a Buchla’s controller. For now, Velocity Keyboard by Mani Consulting Limited Company is a candidate.
I'm currently investigating whether this controller can connect to Live as quickly as Astropad, but I'm not sure. It may be necessary to set each time.
Would you tell me if anyone knows about this?

Yes. I went through may be all the apps designed as Ableton Live controllers. But I chose Astropad, which has less restrictions, because I often use third-party synth softwares and M4L devices.
I didn’t know that the KB-1 Keyboard Suite can control Live via Bluetooth. I put this in the candidate
And I didn't know about MIDI Designer Pro 2 so I'll look it up. But since I'm looking for a simple device, this app may be too multifunctional for me.
kb-1 is pretty great, as is xequence keys... you might like geoshred
Definitely velocity keyboard is great, I prefer it to kb-1 for velocity control (though I like the kb-1 repeat notes function, maybe you should get both). Not sure if u will have problems getting it to do what you want but it is a very responsive keyboard, and u would have the strings option instead of keys (think kb-1 also offers this)
Thank you. I like Xequence's beautiful GUI, so I also checked Xequence AU Keys, but this app doesn't seem to launch standalone. For me, it is desirable that the controller be launched quickly by launching the iPAD and launching the app. (I'm a rationalist and lazy.)
Thank you. I'm interested in the Velocity Keyboard, mainly because I like graphic design of the GUI and simplicity of the configuration. It is also nice that the scale is displayed in characters.
I like set velocity to max, so the controller doesn't need to be able to control velocity for me.
probably you use the Velocity Keyboard, So please let me ask you that, Do you know if it can launch standalone and work with Mac wirelessly right away?
Of course, it’ll need to configure the settings, but I hope it would be OK if I set up the system once, save it, and after that I should only load the settings.
Well I haven't done that, but it can definitely send midi over Bluetooth, so I don't see that that would be a problem. Best thing would be to ask the developer, he is very responsive to support queries in my experience.
Does Velocity Keyboard let you do pitch slides like geoshred?
Sure it does. You can do smooth pitch bends by 'gliding' (in Roli's terminology) on the x axis. U can also use the y axis to 'slide' (this is used to trigger changes in the sound of a note, like adding some filter effect or delay etc and is linked to cc74 mapping). I can't remember whether it handles aftertouch well. But basically I think whatever you can do on geoshred on an iPad will be better on this because this gives you velocity control, which is just so damn important.

The developer provided an immediate response. However, he doesn't have Ableton Live, so he doesn't know if it can use Velocity Keyboard with Live. Has anyone done it?

But My MBP’s Bluetooth doesn't seem to recognize iPad For now. I think MACOS 10.11.6 and iOS 13.3 may not be compatible with Bluetooth connection. I would like to update MACOS but can't do that because I'm using Adobe CS5
So I would have to buy a new MBP for music production.
What about USB?
It isn’t just some simple problem like you need to set up virtual midi or something? Seems weird it wouldn’t recognize your ipad, no?
I just Tried Velocity Keyboard with Ableton and it works fine. I did it via USB using iDAM. It just works on the Ableton end, and you have to set iDAM as the destination on the Velocity app.

Thank you. Apparently the iPad is connected in MBP's Bluetooth preferences. And the developer introduced me the following video. According to this, Apparently I need to purchased Velocity Keyboard and set DESTINATION to Mac. I’ll write the result here later.

I was able to play Live wirelessly using Velocity KB.
Procedure:
Connect iPad and Mac with Bluetooth.
Double-click “Network” icon in the “MIDI Studio” window of Mac’s “AUDIO MIDI Setup”. (“MIDI Network Setup” window will appear. )
Check “Session 1” and check the “Enable” button on the right side of the window.
Customize Bonjour name appropriately.
Destination of Velocity KB is set to Network (automatically?) And iPad is displayed in “Directory” of “MIDI Network Setup”.
At this point the performance is possible.
Despite the delay, I'm happy with the cool-designed wireless keyboard.
If you enable the ipad in audio midi preferences then connect in the midi window with bluetooth it may work. You dont connect bluetooth Midi through bluetooth preferences, you need to do it in audio midi setup. I forget that often with my roli lightpad block too.
