ToneBoosters ReelBus tape emulator: new Master Bus mode

Master Bus mode works independent from the other modes with its own macro settings that control many parameters under the hood in an intuitive way. And you'll get some analog VU eye candy :-)

The update is in review and should be available as free update in the App store very soon!

what a lovely Burns Night gift! ...i’m presuming it’ll be here before Saturday :)

  • Wow. These apps are the mutts nuts.

  • Toneboosters plug-ins are among my favorites, they are awesome and the price is very fair.
You’re the proof that excellent products can be made at a great price. Cheers.

  • Ok, it’s live on AppStore. Just a brief try, very nice update. I really love the UI, btw.

    Of course.

  • Very cool. I've used ReelBus on master track a bunch of times, so this is an awesome update.

  • Oh this is cool! The Wow & Flutter control doesn't seem to alter the sound though when moved ... maybe I need to check the manual.

  • I know: leave a 5 star AppStore review❤️😌☝️🙏

I have no idea what this new thing is, but I'm sure I will like it. So thank you.

  • Shoots it’s already on my master bus in everything, followed by TB Barricade

  • Yoooo why have I never heard of you before. Apps are on my list next.

  • Just got TB Reverb a week ago and it's now my go to reverb on everything. I'm sure I'll be getting this and many other TB effects

  • Their reverb, compressor (Barricade) and EQ are all outstanding. Flexible, good interfaces and sound fantastic.

I am currently trying to buy things only when I need them, so haven't bought any others, but it's only a matter of time I'm sure.

  • Outstanding developer. ;-)

  • I really like the new functionality. All in all, this is the best tape emu for iOS. It's not the best on the desktop though, but only because I can't admit to myself that I spent a lot of money on more "noble" tape emulations that sound worse than this... 😑

    U-he Satin?

  • Good grief it sounds good

  • I’m not sure the wow/flutter is working... maxed I don’t hear the same effect as if I max it in the recorder mode... or is it just supposed to be “subtle “ in this master mode, even when maxed?

Nope, Satin is a great plugin. Try again... 😏

Same here ... I can't hear any difference with W&F in Master Mode ... not sure how Master Mode is meant to relate to the other working modes ... how to alter the effect parameters on the Master Mode page? Because they don't use the settings from the other tabs for sure.

  • The W&F control is a different one from the one in recorder mode - assumption is that in master bus mode one wouldn't go as crazy with W&F as in a creative mode.

That said, we'll uploading an update to the app store with some minor tweaks (including a CPU load reduction) and will change the W&F control in Master Bus mode to give a bit more pronounced effect for large values (>50%) keeping the default 50% roughly as is..... Stay tuned :-)

  • @DJB - will you updating the documentation to include specifics on the master bus mode?

Agreed, would love to see more detailed documentation for all TB apps in general.

  • They do have documentation for the previous versions. Which are useful, but obviously lack details on newer improvements.

I'm also hoping we're going to get sidechaining for the limiter/compressor. :)

The documentation I’ve found is pretty limited. Maybe I’m missing something.

  • If you google their stuff you'll find the old documentation. Like I said it's for a previous version (less functionality, different UI), but nonetheless it's useful.

  • Would an auto output levelling function like in v3 work for v4 as well? It would be plenty useful!
